I managed to run Comanche Gold with the Post Processed tool Reshade and i was a able to use FXAA combined with SMAA and it looks great, i also enhanced the colors.

There is no coding required all you need is DXGL to convert direct draw to Opengl, the you need Reshade Version 2.0.1f4, this program enables a lot of graphics settings like FXAA, Bloom, HDR etc. i not sure about hardware, mine are:
Windows 10, i5 4670K 3,4 GHZ, 12 gb ram and a GTX 970.
So far i can ony play in windwed mode, but im trying to get it to work in full screen.
