-Free to Play -DX12 / 4k Support (Triple Screen Support?) Being a Windows 10 App, no XFire/SLi Support. -63 Cars -20 Tracks (6 Locales) -KB, Mouse, Game Pad Support (Wheel Support to Come Later)
It all comes down to if they try to charge a monthly subscription to play multiplayer. I have been dying for a Forza PC game but if I wanted to pay a monthly subscription I would have just got an xbox one.
Doubt it, Xbox Games is moving from Hardware to software,
So maybe ONE more console, and after that, Xbox will be a Brand Name on Windows.
FM was Built on DX11/12, and Ran on Windows DevKits, I think a few of us convinced them enough to port FM6 to Windows 10, Which was as easy as changing the compiler option from Xbox One to Windows 10 x86-64 inside Visual Studio.
The Graphics Engine was already coded for DX12, so this maybe a decent benchmark for DX12 outside of the other few.
Being a Xbox/Windows 10 App, you wont get Xfire/SLi Support, so DX12 Multi-GPU and asynchronous compute is a "maybe"

[Re: SkateZilla]
Very cool news, hope they actually make Forza6 full game compatible with Windows10
Would love to be able to crank up the gfx even higher AA than what I can do on my XB1 with it.
Forza6 is a car lover's eyecandy dream, so many cool cars that don't usually show up in PC sims, modeled at a high detail, and even besides the racing and test drives, making screenshots of them is a enjoyable in itself.
DO they have a release date for Apex yet? I cant see anywhere that they even suggest it will be this year. I wonder just how slimmed down this will be. It sounds kind of like they are removing car ownership and customization and makeing it an event based with presetup cars? I hope thats not the case. That would defeat the whole purpose of what forza is. I mean I can do that right now with Project Cars or Assetto Corsa or any of the GT games or rfactor or.... any other PC racing game.
Mar, 01 2016 Forza Motorsport 6: Apex Announced, Free-to-Play on PC Arriving on Windows 10 Spring 2016. by Mitch Dyer
Update: A Microsoft representative updated IGN on the functionality of Drivatars in Forza 6: Apex, explaining, "The Drivatar system actually is present in Apex. Drivatars will be “seeded” from FM6 to Apex, then Drivatars will train over time in Apex as with all other current Forza titles."
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is coming to PC, and the Turn 10-developed, Windows 10-exclusive racing game will be free-to-play. Optional mictotransactions will allow players to purchase vehicles, or they can be earned by winning events.
Apex is not a straight port of Forza 6. At launch, Apex features 12 themed racing events, more than 60 cars, and a new objective system, which challenges players to complete specific, skill-based tasks for additional in-game currency.
"Drivatars" from Forza 6 on Xbox One will not carry over to Apex, Turn 10 told IGN. The developer declined to comment on any upcoming paid expansions, but emphasized the importance of updates to Apex, specifically in spotlighting specific cars with different events.
Turn 10 also confirmed to IGN that future Forza Motorsport games would be developed concurrently for PC and Xbox One.

this image is just mind blowing, I'm not a race guy but even this has me wondering...
From the article SkateZilla just posted, it looks like the photo feature from FM6 is in FM Apex, so you should be able to play with it for free once it comes out on PC.
One of my favorite things to do with Forza and Gran Turismo titles is photo shots since they tend to have exotic classic cars that usually aren't present in most PC sims but are drool worthy to me.
