The majority of posts in the forum are from people who enjoy making things for the game. There are few posts from people who actually play EAW.
A few days ago I started a thread regarding Ray's work. He had asked me to try to get feedback about his planesets for the Mediterranean theatre, and his target set for his extended ETO theatre. I made a customised download available. I do not know if anyone downloaded it, and at this juncture no feedback has been posted. Unless people have sent it to Ray via PMs to Ray there has been none frown
It may be that we are making things that nobody actually wants. It may well be that what they have is already sufficient.

wink

Well fellas, after a hiatus for a couple of years I know that I am looking to get back into flying the old girl. Much to work through just getting it to "work" before I can think about dressing it up.
However, once I get there I am looking forward to discovering the wealth of improvements that have been made in my absence. Do not be discouraged by a lack of replies. If people are looking then you are having an impact. Keep up the good work.

I'm off now to figure out how to make EAW run full screen on my PC.

I downloaded Module140 and have flown all the planes but still have one planeset to go. I have emailed Ray with questions and pointed out any anomalies.

I'm not a complete idiot--some parts are missing.

What version are you running, which o/s and what is your graphics card set-up?

Just starting out with 1.2
Radeon 4800 graphics
Windows 7

I wanted to go to Windows 10 but it won't support the resolution I normally use so I would have to replace the graphics card.
I wonder if I could kill two birds with one stone by upgrading the graphics card to something that could work with Windows 10 AND run EAW?
I did get it to run using one of those "windower" programs last night (I forget which one right now)

I use "plug-in" hard drives on my desktop PC, with EAW installed on the internal drive. So I can run in Win7 or Win10. In Win 7 I need the d3dwindower program to avoid the garbled map screen.
In Win 10 I do not need anything else and it runs in full screen smile
If you replace your card then be aware that nvidia cards have not supported horizon fog in d3d and a glide wrapper is needed. As the new 140 exes support glide3 then this is no longer a problem because the '*.bmp' files used in d3d are read and used in glide3. This was not the case with Glide2 which previous exes use.

Thank you sir!
I do have access to some slightly older PC's so I may end up with one purpose built for EAW, or not, who knows.

FWIW, there is a healthy community of lurkers here. Every now and again I get a PM from someone who doesn't want to become a contributor but has some sort of problem. Also, it seems with the number of views we get on almost any subject that there is still a lot of interest.

I'm wondering if there is an option within oneDrive to count the number of download requests. That would tell us a lot.

And a hearty thanks to Sidewinder from me too. His input on the flight models and other issues has been a big help.

Still, I could use more input, even if it's through PM's or e-mails.

Hi all,

Must confess I now fly very infrequently due to family problems etc. I must thank all concerned for the way the old game has been added to over the years. Looks like playability and ground targets are well covered these days, and the planes have improved beyond my wildest dreams. Of course there are a few I would still like to see being built but at least we now have a Condor in progress and the Hampden has re-surfaced so we have a token full set of RAF mediums/heavies. Of course in an ideal world we would have all the various marks/models but that is unrealistic. However, if we have not already got them a set of Wellingtons in MkI, II, and III would be nice - can't remember what currently exists but I think either MkIII or MkX. Likewise a Halifax with Merlins - I think we have a Hercules one, and seem to remember we have a Whitley, Manchester and Lancaster, possibly even a MkII as well as a MkI/III? As to Stirlings I seem to recall there may have been a MkI as well as a MkIII but like I said I am not "current" so I apologise if I am wrong about any of the above. I seem to remember flying both a Wellington and a Whitley over the Alps in Moggy's Dunkirk scenario or something similar. I rather fancy doing the same again over Italy and Germany in the 1940/41 bombers, assuming the targets are available with Flak etc.

Pete

I think there is a community of lurkers still flying. My old addons are still being downloaded.

The OneDrive forum has many posts requesting that a download count be incorporated. The response from Microsoft is that it is a great idea, but it has never been implemented frown
