Not sure about this aspect and might need some adjustment later on. But I have now "cheesed" my way to victory a couple of times in a big way. Since this is new to me I bugged up with giving out Artillery spotter where I needed them. And fighting on the offensive at night with no flares and no artillery is vary bloody right? So I just keep parking a tank company with a a few infantry squads in the enemy square. Do an infantry rush on a gun or 2. Blow up an infantry trench where I see no over watching positions. And.... the enemy gets routed every time. Since its mainly infantry and AT guns so far, the combat weight of all the tanks is greater than the 15 infantry squads and guns. I get the square with hardly any fighting. This causes like 20 or more enemy platoons to get routed. The thing is the enemy also is giving me cease fire offers that result in all of them getting routed. Not so sure about this.

Now... realistically if a tank company maneuvers at night with supporting infantry into low ground of your defenses you really can not stay. You need to kick them out or fall back. As when day light hits your going to get crushed bad. But for a game I think as of now this is a bit to easy to just drive a tank company into the AO and grab a bunch of land with little to no fighting. Sure, the enemy units are now routed and will appear somewhere again and intact. During the day this is WAY harder. Unless dead ground you can maneuver in on. But at night... ugh don't know about this one. Of course the AI can do it to you too. And in fact did do this once so far with out me not knowing how much junk they plopped into my area. But unlike GTOS this results in all 9 squares getting lost. In effect like fleeing a battle.

So I see both sides here. And does add the element of "out Generaling" your opponent. Or is it out Coloneling your opponent? Time will tell here... And I might be missing something. That is vary possible. But I am digging all the tanks and guns.

Oh and by the way. I do not recommend rushing anti tank guns at night with combat engineers. It seemed like a good idea but they failed to throw and satchel charges at the gun. Do not know if they where a platoon of morons or something is up there. Regular infantry it works freaking awesome at night. Even ordering no firing they will sneak on in there and just throw grenades at the gun and crew. With no firearms being used they draw vary little fire from surrounding infantry. biggrin Taken a lot of marders this way too. This, Ya I love this.

45mm shell in fight. Seems to be missing a texture?

In GTOS some of the howitzers could be picky about firing indirect fire missions. Well this M30 122mm howitzer is not in Mius. My new favorite fire support gun. Although 75mm leif 18's are really good.

I am pretty far west in the Red Army campaign and made it the area where the smaller campaigns take place on the map. And this freaking hill has been a pain in the BUTT.... So here we are attempting the rocket solution.

These freaking Germans on this hill are murdering me. But I did make this happen....

Same AT gun as above shot, later on. No idea..... Yes its trying to tow the upside down gun.

Above 2. Two medium tank companies and left overs of a light tank company conduct cavalry charge. Generally a terrible idea in Mius. Germans have insane about of anti tank guns. But last turn they attacked and am 90 percent sure few, if any left. So why not?

Tank battalion murder.

Pretty sure I have totally broken the back of the Germans in this area. Should be a walk in the park in the North.

Well after cheesing my way easy victory do to that win everything bug, with still around 70 German platoons and companies routed because of it and running out of map, I declare victory. And I want to try the Germans, that too. But wow, these 2 big campaigns are pretty massive. Will take a hell of a lot of time to play to victory.

But time to switch sides without that dumb victory bug. And from playing the Red Army campaign, I know the German one is going to be the harder of the two. The number of tanks the Red Army gets is really high.
