When someone tells you to jump, you don't ask how high?

When someone told Captain Joseph Kittinger to jump, I bet he asked can we go higher?

Now that's a real Superman! WOW!

Guts helps, but the most important thing is trust: trust in your team, trust in your equipment and trust in yourself.

Kittinger was the voice of ground control when Felix Baumgartner set the new record of 128,000 feet a couple years ago. Kittinger's jump was before my time but I heard about it when I was skydiving many years ago, was lucky enough to go along (virtually) with Baumgartner live on his jump. I believe they said at the time that Joe was Felix's first choice and that he didn't hesitate when asked. Solid man.

Well, it just proves the saying..."You can fix anything with duct tape."

Kittenger was also cap com for Felix Baumgartner on his 2012 record breaking jump.

And he spent almost a year as a POW after being shot down in Vietnam.

I had the honor of meeting Col Kittinger during a visit to Holloman AFB in 2007. Remarkable man, and as down to earth (pardon the pun) as you might hope.

All that and it still only counted as one jump in his log book.
