I love living in New England because we get all 4 seasons, by the time you're sick of the snow it's done and you're waiting for spring. Last week after a nice little snow storm I had to stop snow blowing our driveway because the sunset was just amazing. Wish I had some higher ground to get a better view.

This was the coldest conditions I've ever shot at, temp was -11F and WC was -34 yet there had to be 20 other photographers who were out there with me going for this same shot. I knew a lot of them, but it's tough to know who's who when you're all bundled up. Has to be damn cold to get sea smoke, I've been here a few times and have seen it.

Beautiful shots! You captured the snow and the lighting perfectly in the top shot, and the clouds are perfectly exposed in the second one, keeping the scene from having any blown out areas. The lighthouse is nicely silhouetted, with the light adding a nice focal point.

Stunning shots Dave, although I can't say I miss the winters in the North East. For a higher elevation view you should consider getting a DJI Phantom 3 or similar wink

Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.

I was up at Portland Head in ME last year where a guy had one doing video at sunrise. I have a drone and never use it,always using my camera.

Beautiful shots! I'm surprised that the first shot into the sunset preserved so much of the detail in the shadows.

Thanks Shan, once the sun broke over the smoke it was much tougher.

Here's a shot from Portland Me the next morning, -4 but thankfully not much wind. 30 mins later the smoke fully covered this lighthouse.
