Several months ago Col Gibbon contacted Zeus software to enquire about getting the documentation for glide3.
"Zeus" kindly offered to update the source code, and a few days ago he sent me the modified files that he had made for the version I sent him. This morning I was able to track the changes to two files which have been updated since that time, and make a Glide3 version of my latest source code.
It works wink

Now we need some 512x512 TPC files to test how it handles them wink

A very big "thanks" to "Zeus" and thanks to Col Gibbon and Allen (Brit44) for their help in getting this to fruition.

wink

Is this about the flipped over element problem?

No
EAW/Glide2 was restricted to 256x256 textures.
Glide3 supports 512x512 so the new exe has been re-programmed to use glide3 along with 512x512 textures smile

Glide3 also supports 24 bit colour, so say goodbye to 8 bit colours!

A code change might be needed to read 515x512 24bit pcx files, as I'm not sure if you can convert a pcx to tpc in 24bit.

Just a comparison with the previous exe and the new one:

Only the player's plane is rendered properly the rest are white:

With the new exe all the planes are rendered:

Question:
These BMP files are all 256x256

Do we have any 512x512 multiskins?

IM seems to have only posted his skins in 256x256.

I have Terrain sets and Tmods, with a few single planes.

Some of your railway stuff is 512x512 such as the engine and coaches and it is rendering:

Here are a couple of 512x512 skins to play with. The Glad has all the files, but the DH-1 needs converting to TPC and BMP.

I have just made the 1.29 old and new map versions, and put one of Iron Mike's 24 bit skins in the 109G slot

There is a 1.28e version too, but the display is not as clear as the 1.29 version with the same files:

This may well be because 1.28e uses the enormous hard coded texture mapping, whereas 1.28f and later use the external and editable files

wink

That may well be, but it is not my concern. These exes are reading and displaying both 512x512 and 256x256 BMP files in Glide mode, and that is all I need to know smile

OK Tony.

Looks like a simple job of changing the prop element codes, or don't use 0,0,0, colour.

Are you happy with the new Glide code?

The only thing I can think of is trying to overload the exe and try to find the texture load limit. The memory limit might need attention.

I now have the settings right in nGlide. Here is a screenshot showing EAW running Glide in a 1680x1050 window on the 1980x1080 screen in Windows 10

The 24 bit are 512's...

I'll look at JG 77 and fix the prop hubs.

Update... JG77 fixed set has been sent to Sandy today.
