Anyone still playing GF regularly? I've been out for awhile now but my 9yr old son is obsessed with it on the PS4 and it has gotten my attention again.

I jumped in a couple missions this morning in the M18 and M4A1(76) and was routinely handed my arse by hordes of T-34/85s and IS-2s. The Tiger drivers on our side stood no chance. Seems the Russkies are still hanging at the top.

Looking at the Brits/Amis, how are they fairing nowadays?

S! Graf,

I am still driving daily (unlocking all skins for each tank), need to pick your BR to have any chance (I've stopped before BR 6.0). The Brit stuff was fun, send me an invite to JG1_Lipfert and we'll group up. Heck, we should create a SimHQ unit.

Not playing on a regular basis... Spent time grinding my way through many of the British Tech tree when it was released, got everything up to the Firefly and then came to the realization that it was the same old, same old, then kicked it into touch again.

I play it still, but it seems that currently matchmaking and glitchyness are worse then before... from shots not registering and weird error messages to absurd game constelations. I was helping a friend grind tanks and we both hat tier 1 max 1.3 BR stuff like the BT7 and where pitted mercilessly against 3-inch gun carriers backed by 3.3 BR medium tanks.

Still fun for a casual round though, but never ever take it too serious and hop on to something else if it gives you the finger again.. at least that´s how I feel.

I still fire it up about once a week, only play sim, and I don't worry about the legendary bias or bad matchups. I never jump into a Sherman of any flavour, for me it is pointless. I just look for sim matchups that let me drive:

Tiger H1/Panther vs anything tier IV or under
Jagdtiger or Jagdpanther vs anything tier V
M18 (used in ambush, up close) against anything, any tier
M60 vs anything
IS2-3-4 vs anything
T10 vs anything

So there are very few matchups where I feel I don't have a chance, and a good team can always win in typical SB matchups no matter what side.

That said, I realise it is no coincidence that for top tier/BR matchups in sim if you want to play German or Allies you often find very few takers and very long waiting times because most want to play Russian due to perceived overpower.

So here are my impressions thus far concerning the Brits (whom I've been grinding tho I did purchase the Premium Firefly/15 days Premium).

Crusader Series- Nice tanks but no armor whatsoever. Routinely killed by everyone driving around in AAA trucks.

Valentine Series- Love the 75mm on the XI. One shot killer on almost everything it faces from PzIVs to T34s. Slow as hell tho.

Cromwell Series- Might be my new love. Low profile. Fast. 6pder and 75mm both good options for most everything it encounters. Decent armor.

Sherman Firefly IC- What can I say? I love it but god that 17pder sucks! With no HE filler ammo it takes 3-4 shots to kill anything. Most rounds penetrate but do little damage giving the Panthers and Tigers you routinely face time to "one shot" you. Panthers almost immune from frontal shots unless real close to accurately hit the mantlet. Tigers just as tough.
Tough tank to win in but fun. Love her looks as well.

Played in some Panthers and Tigers in "sim" mode after being frustrated in the Firefly. They're back to awesome! Every match I shrugged off hits and had a 3:1 kill ratio compared to the 1:1 ratio in the Firefly. German tankers should be happy with their mounts.

Lip,

I know I sound like a broken record but I definitely want to get some tanking in. We need to set a good time for the both of us to get on. Teamwork in this game definitely goes a long way to success.

Teamwork with voice comms is becoming much more prevalent in Simulator GF with devastating results.
Two teams on a match recently killed all opposition with no loss, including me. Wirbels/Ostwinds used in parallel are deadly, or can immobilise and blind with constant fire pointing out where you are for the heavier hitters.
