Oh, man, this is absolute corporate jibberish talk made into an art form: "These changes will allow us to operate more effectively and help create an organization that is more agile, able to pursue growth and regain share in our core markets by simplifying our processes and reducing our operating costs, thus increasing our competitiveness and profitability without compromising the quality of our product offering. This realignment of our resources will also enable us to better support strategic initiatives that will make our product slate more competitive, help us gain added consumer interest, and create sustainable shareholder value." Sadly, I was missing "leverage," "refocus," and "mobility" in order to complete my bingo card.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

This is a disaster as Saitek/madcats yokes were basically the best option for the price. I have a cessna pro yoke and pro combat pedals that I really love, I can't imagine simulating without them. The next best set of controls costs over $1,000 for the yoke set alone, compared to the Saitek's $100ish..

Wouldn't it be smarter for them to sell the joystick line rather than just kill it?

My X45 is still kicking, but I know I will probably need to replace it soon. I cannot afford, nor do I have the room for a full CH setup like I once owned (sold it to make room for essential things). I'll probably go cheap next time with a HOTAS-X or something similar.

I hope they don't go under. Maybe it isn't as good as CH/TM, but they are affordable a much better than that $40 TM cheap HOTAS. My X52Pro has been good so far.

They run a pretty straight up budget line of products, I haven't purchased something from Mad Catz in a decade. I would imagine Saitek is a direct competitor. Logitech has a slight edge over both in quality.

thankfully there are many Joystick manufacturers [...] Are they? I'll repeat my self from another thread: Saitek was in the sweet spot of not too pricey and not too bad. The other contenders were CH which hasn't updated their products in ages and looks like they'll pull the plug on the consumer line one of this days, and TM that's expensive and not *that* great neither an which latest offerings are "meh". Here's hope Logitech will make Saitek the same way they do the rest: mid-price, mid-quality. Not that I plan on buying anything, but hey, we need more companies doing stuff.
When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".
