I agree with Top Gun's and knightgames's choices. Not much to get excited about this year, IMO. I would add, however, the Prius "police chase" commercial. Not so much the commercial itself, but following it up some time later with the police getting their own Prius to catch the crooks.

Noticeably absent was a real Clydesdale commercial. They made a cameo in a late Budweiser spot but no "star turn" this year. A little disappointing, as those usually mix ingenuity with a good, real storyline.

And the new "I'm going to Disneyland" (for those of us old enough to remember the seeming spontaneity and innocence of the very first of that series) was Peyton Manning's post-game, "I'm gonna drink a lot of Budweiser."

SALUTE TO ALL!

Yeah kind of a lame year for commercials, my favorite one was not even new I don't think, but just cool nonetheless:

BTW the airport is KPAE Payne Field, which is my local air field where the Boeing Future of Flight museum is and Paul Allen keeps his Flying Heritage Collection including a flying Mig-29.

This was the other I really like.

Not sure if anyone noticed but in the Prius "police chase" commercial, the bank robbers fleeing in the car were the actors from "The Wire" Season 2, Ziggy Sobotka driving, his uncle Frank Sobotka in the passenger seat, and cousin Nick Sobotka in the back, I think the other passenger in the back was police Col Rawls... wonder what led them to being in that commercial, as a big fan of The Wire, it was cool to see.

Good choices from you guys above, also agree that whoever made that puppy, monkey, baby should be put in an isolation cell for a week with that commercial playing nonstop.

I also though Manning's canned comments about drinking lots of Bud were pretty lame, especially the fact that he repeated them almost verbatim twice in the ABC broadcast... but I guess whatever get's him a few extra million is what counts.

the guy in the back left seat was Tonto in 13 Hours, Pablo Schreiber. At least that's who it looks like to me.

The Audi R8 commercial with David Bowie soundtrack was good.

I am still trying to figure out who the "Commander" was supposed to symbolize?

Neil Armstrong? Buzz Aldrin?

p.s. I checked the price for an R8 and the basic model starts at about $180,000. NO THANK YOU!

For that kind of money I can get a pre-owned Lambo or Ferrari or Aston Martin in excellent condition.

Ah good one, I enjoyed the R8 commercial too, sexy car, great sounding engine.

Ironically the Audi R8 actually uses a Lamborghini Gallardo chassis and V10 engine as it's a basis, so you are not too far off on used car comparison.
