Come the 28th February 2016, the chances are Leonardo DiCaprio will finally have won an Oscar. Its all looking very promising for the actor who has already won at the Screen Actors Guild AWards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Awards and the Golden Globes for his role in The Revenant; surely hes bound to win?

If he doesnt win, fret not, as fans in Siberia have gone beyond the call of duty to make sure the 41-year-old gets an Oscar. Female fans from the Yakutia region are reportedly melting down their valuables to create a statuette for DiCaprio as part of an Oscar for Leo campaign.

I guess the film resonated with them. Must have been a really realistic representation of what life must be in Siberia!

DiCaprio, to me, is a very very underrated actor.

I think it's because people think of him as a pretty face and then, when they discover that the movie they're watching is not "light" and that the dude can play serious roles, they feel disappointed.

When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".

As much as I hate his politics, he's a better actor than Clooney. That guy just sucks...

He takes on some tough roles and plays them to heart. Love "Blood Diamond" Highly underrated actor.

I don't understand all the hate for DiCaprio, to be honest. I can't remember a single film that I saw with him where he didn't deliver. Aviator, Shutter Island, Catch me if you can, J. Edgar, Inception, The Wolf of Wall Street ... I haven't seen "The Beach" though from what I'm hearing he's very good in it, too.

Hate "Titanic" as much as you want as a chick flick - it's not because DiCaprio can't act.

I think people tend to confuse him with Orlando Bloom for some reason.

Titanic was a laugh riot to me; the script was such crap that nobody could fault the actors for it.

I think he was great in "Catch me if you can" and in "Aviator", where he played Howard Hughes.

I find it interesting how a movie like "Titanic" which made over 2 billion at the box office worldwide AND won the Oscar for Best Picture seems to also be one of the most reviled films on SimHQ. We must really be out of the mainstream! wink

He's one of my favourite actors.I thought that his performance in Django as Calvin J. Candie was excellent.

I tend not to like the films he's done, but the ones I did like (Titanic, Inception) I thought he did a fine job in. Oscar-worthy may be pushing it, but I've never thought he was bad.

There are still people who believe the world is flat or that the world is only about 6,000 years old so stuff like this is pretty much par for the course.

The Departed was very powerful... I think is his best.
Actually watched Infernal Affairs first but to me they're not at the same level somehow.

I think most people agree that he's a great actor. His talents really stood out in Catch e if you can.

He seems to get a lot of flack because of his personal life, in which, if the rumours are true, he generally acts like a pretty big douchebag.

Yep, he's a good actor... but his early excess after early success but a lot of people off.

Before Titanic, his first early acclaimed role was in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Very, very well done.
