And, of course, in the middle of a big, fat, payout at an outpost taking two deliveries for about 9 million.
Here with a warning though reversing something I posted here earlier.
Now granted this situation was probably 1 in a 1000 but one of my basic premises about these mission types was flawed.
Got a message, just prior to dropping out of SC at my destination, that system security was interested in my ship. A second or two later I drop and a police ship turns up nearby also. Interestingly system security (2 of them) also started attacking the outpost in their FAS's - another oddity - and I think their attack started right after I was scanned by them failing all remaining missions.
If I was smart as soon as I saw the police around I should have left the area, jumped to my other delivery or whatever, but at this point I was quite cocky having done so many successfully.
Anyway the warning and correction: Apparently my previous escapes from active scans were pure luck. I stated here that when scanned just deploying a hardpoint, even if it contains just an ADS, breaks the scan. This appears incorrect and it did not work in the above scenario.
It looks like young Cmdr Ice may be correct. You either need a weapon on the hardpoint OR the scanning ship needs to be targeted OR both.
You have been warned. There is also a very slim chance that I "fat fingered" my ADS deployment but I don't think so.
