Panzermeyer, you were right! Now I am reading God Emperor of Dune . . . the vibe is so different! No wonder directors like David Lynch were attracted to Dune projects!

"God Emperor" is a great book but it does indeed change the vibe quite alot from the original Dune trilogy. Part of that of course is the fact that God Emperor takes place like 4,000 years after the Children of Dune.

Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan. Got it for Christmas 2 years ago from my fiancee and son. Didn't have anything on my Kindle that I was in the mood for and that has been sitting on my dresser forever so I finally decided to start it. It's pretty funny and the chapters are super short, like 2-3 pages so I can read a couple at a time then stop when my kids demand attention.

Top Gun, I would like to know what your impressions of 13 Hours are when you finish it. You know, maybe a spoiler/non-spoiler review.

Too much background info, not enough story... Maybe it's because I saw the movie twice before reading the book and I want them to just get to the action and not give background on everything.

Currently drooling over my Barrington Atlas of the Greek and Roman World! One of my favorite things to do with maps of the ancient world is to see which modern cities many of these ancient era towns eventually evolved into. For a while I thought that Camulodunum became London but in fact it became modern day Colchester.

Letterbory1, this got so much better once the fighting started. Very Happy it picked up
