I recently just started to enjoy tank sim again.. in a p47 team effort ;=)
With Karaya keeping the airspace tidy in his wobbly Mustang, Vade and I do what P47s do best: Explaining the idea and implications of "Airsuperiority" to the enemy ground team
It is a bit clearer on screen then in my (not so brilliant) video because the vid settings are something I still need to optimise.. But it also helps soo much to share target info in the team. In teamspeak we shared all observations and in the 2nd bit you can see someone from the ground asking us to attack 2 tigers east of A, so we get a general idea of where to look.
like the tiger in the woods, shot-directions from the tanks are also a good giveaway, when there is a clear sense of what shots from what directions should be friendly.
But appart from that, on this particular map, some of the spawns are very vulnerable to air attack as the obvious routes to the action for the tanks go over very open fields. One just knows in advance there will be a bunch of guys running the field in the beginning.. One can take better covered routes, or disperse on spawn, but the gamemechanics with the "rush-to-cap" kinda prevent beeing much sense in that, WT just is and stays a bit derpy.
Is it best to attack with a high AoA like that so you hit the tanks in their weaker upper armor? Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong, attacking from too low and only getting a tanks stronger side armor.
I also love flying attack planes in Sim Battle Tank matches in Warthunder. No icons so you really have to look hard to study who's good and bad. But yeah it's not that hard to ID tanks. Most German tanks use a white tracer, and allies forces have red, and you can tell from which way the fire is coming from too and get a general idea.
I don't have many high level aircraft yet so I usually play only tier 1 and 2, would love to get the P47. I see you run full WEP and looks like full rads open as well. Do you not overheat with these settings? I will have to try that it seems every plane is different, and like you said derpy haha.
I definitely do not want you guys on the opposing side when driving tanks in WT. Well done! Wann immer ich DrZeebra oder JG52Karaya in WT sehe, nehme ich mich besser in acht.

Well, the whole thing is that guns in WT are mostly not so great for tank attacks.. even the Mossie with the 57mm cannon is just leaving more often then not leaving only little dents. 500kg bombs and rockets work better, even though the rockets are now very imprecise and not as accurate as they used to be, so it´s best to employ them in salvos.
The 47 is really recomendable to grind, very fun.. but I say this as someone who really preferes tank-sim because you know beforehand what vehicles will be in the game and don´t get that weird matchmaking stuff.. even though, sometimes the battles are ruined by complete inept teams on any side, you also find the most cooperating teammates and coordinated enemies there, so the gameplay is better, imho.
Some more less serious bits thrown in a lose collage:
Well, the shooting bit is still the most trouble.. but at least getting shot at in return makes fore interesting crash opportunities...
It really is so much fun to fly as a multirolle p47 team over the larger maps in tank sim in WT.. trying to sort out what is going on the ground and how to intervene... Mozdok, Kursk.. those really have a tank battle feel to it.
Here is another fun flight, where I spend the late match mostly just identifiying and marking targets with tracers for my friends who are better in delivery... after some unfortunate friendly fire incident, since tracers on a battlefield are not a failsafe pointer it starts to work well and helps get the match done.
