Who will be checking this out? I will be on Xbox One. Would be nice to get some people together to see how MP feels. Also, Xbox One gets access on Thursday and everyone can download 48 hours ahead so you don't waste time for the beta.

Yeah same here, PC pre-ordered on Amazon (20% off for Prime members and they don't charge until it ships).

Looking forward to playing the beta Fri, if I don't like the beta gameplay I will just cancel the pre-order like I did with Battlefront.

Every time I log into uplay to preload it says there is an error contacting uplay and then it doesnt list any of my games. So I cant preload.

I hate uplay...

I think I figured it out. If you have the PC version you have to download a new version of uplay. The old launcher doesnt fully log in so it doesnt up date your game list but it also doesnt tell you that there is a new launcher and that the old one wont update itself.

@Master did you have to uninstall and download a fresh Uplay from the Ubisoft site?

I'm still waiting for my PC beta key from Amazon pre-order, in the meantime it looks like Nvidia is giving out keys here:
https://contests.nvidia.com/en-gb/the-division-beta-key-giveaway

The site is overloaded but through persistence I managed to get a key and redeem it, just waiting for Uplay to notify me that the game is available.

UPDATE: ok the process worked, got an email from Uplay welcoming me to the beta, and Uplay client preloading it now thumbsup

I got a second key from that this morning. Going to give it to a friend who wants to play.

Yes I had to uninstall and reinstall completely.

Just played it for around 2 hours with a friend. Damn, I'm normally a fan of the "MMO" system but this is pretty boring. Really has the inane Ubisoft feel to it. Plus, the performance is really sub-par but I'll chalk that up to being beta and not having tinkered too much with the settings.

And the menu systems, my god, that was NOT designed with PC in mind nor by anyone competent in basic UI design.

I tried it for about a hour or so on XB1... like it more then I thought I would of, but can see serious issues with it, my biggest beef is the number of rounds almost point blank to take a man down. Don't need insta-kills but come on, if I fire 2 or 3 rounds into you, you should be treating not becoming superman. Also seems a little to cluttered in the information provided, overlays.

MaceUK was nice enough to give me a PC Beta key. Its not sounding worth a 27GB download though. nope Is the user interface and servers/online connections stable?

Played it about an hour at lunch. Its what I expected it. It is a cover based shooter with health and items a la borderlands.

If you want a realistic shooter this isnt for you. With that said I didnt run into a situation where a 2-3 second burst didnt kill anyone outright. The AI does seem a bit bullet spongy but that is what I expected it to be. This isnt ghost recon or R6. This is a MMO style HP based cover shooter.

Yeah I played it about an hour and did a couple of the first missions near the starting location, the shooting is ok, but my biggest worry is how empty the maps are, not really any loot to find, I was looking forward to a Destiny like game but with post apocalypse scenario and assault weapons, but you just wander around from mission point to mission point with nothing to shoot at or do on the way, pretty bored and wishing it was more like Destiny where there's always something going on in the maps on the way to quests.

Will probably give it another try tomorrow, but I'm thinking I might cancel my pre-order and just wait to buy it when it's discounted.

Maybe I just need to play it more, but as someone who still plays Destiny, first impressions were pretty meh...

Yeah, the world does feel empty. I know the whole story revolves around a virus and martial law, yet they try to make it seem more authentic by sprinkling the world with the same 3-4 generic civilian AIs doing the same thing on random streets. Feels so fake. Game is a lot of walking and running, back and forth, to kill a few easy bad guys, find-a-key-and-unlock-room-to-rescue-these-people and some inane encounters where you click on a terminal. The amount of random enemy encounters I've had can be counted on one hand.

Biggest problem I see is, due to the fact that it's an "MMO" style game, with progression, lots of doing the same stuff repeatedly to gain levels and gear, you sort-of need a carrot for the end-game or at least to continue progressing. Yet I don't see that carrot, nor have I heard anything. I understand there will be some 'difficult' raid-like encounters for the end-game and the ability for some serious firework, like artillery strikes ... But that doesn't sound very exciting nor a proper carrot.

The Dark Zone is just terrible. Extreme bullet sponging and people taking 5 mags to get down at times. Backstabbing and groups that have more players than you, will automatically have the upper hand. Everyone seems to be praising it yet I find that to be the worst element of the game. Least amount of fun I've had in a videogame in years.

Not sure what I expected really but the game just feels boring. The game looks good, feeling of the guns is nice, has a lot of satisfying elements but for a game I'd drop $60 on and spend a serious amount of time? Ehhh ... Already had my fill from the Beta.

Im actually enjoying it. I dont want or need a game where you are shooting every few seconds. An encounter ever 5 min or so seems just fine to me. I've also seen a bunch of different encounters with the ai doing different things.

I dont much care for the dark zone. We are all supposed to be on the same side and yet everyone just kills everyone. Also it feels too full of people. You can look down a street and see 5-10 humans running around. Its supposed to be an abandoned section of the city and it has more people than the refugee camp.

I like the movement, gunplay and etc. I am also ok with the bullet sponges. I expected that. I've never played Destiny so I cant compare it. Really I think this game would come down to if you had people to play with or not for me to buy.

Yeah I think that's probably the difference, I was playing by myself and it was pretty boring compared to Destiny and Dying Light, but I can can see where playing in a co-op group is probably fun.

I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order for now, it's just not worth full price for me with what I saw, I'll probably pick it up sometime down the line once the price drops and some of my friends pick it up so we can play co-op.

Still have high hopes for Ghost Recon Wildlands, hopefully the world won't be so empty.
