I think the total last winter was around 20 inches so getting that much+ in one shot is nuts around here.

2010 I think was the last time we had so much at one time (18" or so)

Nice little dusting there CG.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Little?

That's enough to shut down the entire DFW area if we get that much snow here.

They're literally "on deck" for when he's finished with the three inside.

No kidding! I've been praying to a god whom I'm not sure exists, just in case he does, to send that snow up here where we (*I*) want it and we can handle it.

Why is it that with something like 80% of people driving either a FWD, AWD, or 4WD vehicle, all superior to RWD in snow, so many of those people get themselves into so much trouble? I say it's because many of them never HAD to drive a RWD vehicle in the snow. And because a lot of them go out in crappy weather when they should stay home instead. It would be pretty foolish for me to buy studded tires for an event that happens maybe one 2-3 day period every 2-3 years.

You've never done a burn out with studded tires.

Well, Never mind I guess, Back to the irregularly scheduled Snow reports. Make a Snowgirl for me.

Absolutely. I'm just saying that it IS possible to drive on ice with little to no problems with starting, steering, or stopping.

Never had studded tires when learning to drive. Was 16 and had a 1961 Buick Lesabre and was
driving to my friends house 25 miles outside outside town after an ice storm in Jan. 1977.
We were half way to his house and came across Highway Patrolman in the ditch. We stopped
and asked him he needed any help and he sheepishly said help was on the ways and we got
back in the car and crawled along road not breaking traction to keep going. Took us 4 hours
to get there. But we made it. My Dad taught us how to drive on the frozen lakes when I was 14.
He wanted us to learn how the car felt when traction was lost and how to regain it. One of
those driving lessons that will forever be burned into memory. Never been in the ditch or
stuck any where in my life. And always have a shovel and winter survival gear in any on my
cars.

They ice race close to here. I've never tried it but I used to go watch some. I lost interest when they banned Subaru's which just happens to be one of my favorite car brands.
