Starting the Lebanon campaign playing on the Blue side, I always like to immediately use the Campaign Commander and generate SEAD missions on every enemy Sam positions around Damascus Airport.
Then once the assigned air units for those missions are taking off and heading off to their first Waypoint, I start CAS and BAI mission on every enemy armor and support positions again around Damascus Airport.
So at one time I may have up to 20 separate flights of Comanches, Apache, Apache Longbow, Blackhawks, each one with one to 4 ships, all headed toward Damascus.
Well I noticed some of them are not even halfway there before they are engaged from a distance by enemy SAMS, gunships and jet aircraft.
Many of them are lost immediately without being able to find a firing position to defend themselves with AIM-92 Stinger.
Therefore I am wondering if they are just too many air units from both sides congregated in the area South of Damascus which causes a lack of airspace for them to effectively fly into a firing position?
Is that possible?
I am also not able to watch every unit in real time so I wonder if any of them from different units on the Blue side, while juggling for a firing position, actually end up colliding with each other before they are even fired upon by the enemy.
