Congrats and keep it up.

Just please don't become some anti-smoking zealot that goes out of their way to insult people who still smoke. I had some vile ex-smoker go well out of his way to harrange me for smoke outdoors away from other people. Or another that sat in the smoking section of a restaurant - it was clearly labelled - and loudly complained about inconsiderate and uncompassionate smokers that were killing people around them with their second hand smoke.

Yep, I always hated that guy too and swore I wouldn't become him when I quit. If I go somewhere I still won't B&M about someone else smoking. Not much of a problem with the anti-smoking zealots in CA though.

One year date. Sucks to say I still want one occasionally and even dreamt about it maybe 3 times since.

Don't sweat the occaisonal craving, I still do too and it's been years. Especially when I smell one at a distance and get that baseball/football game smell.
Not hard to resist.

$1100 saved, that's pretty good.
You should've put away that money day by day and treated yourself to something nice (if you haven't already)!

Good luck for the future!

Apple App Store it's called Smoke free by David Crane and is free with purchase option.
I smoked for 17 years so I know what you mean by struggle.

Good luck bud

According to the Excel-file I made back then:

stopped: Nov. 11th, 2013 ca. 22:00
non-smoked cigarettes: 15,332.34 (that's just CRAZY!)
money saved: ca. 4200,- (Euros, that is, cigs became quite expensive in the last years)

Not to think of all the stuff I didn't inhale, that's just crazy too.

Haven't checked the stats since 6th month after quitting. Guess, that was the moment, when the hard times were over.
First months were a wee bit hard though after 27 years of smoking.
I remember ticking off the days on a calendar thinking, that I would never make it through the first hour, day, week. The first month lasted forever. But it got better and better afterwards.

Now I barley miss it. Not in the morning, not while in the pub or at a party, no more smoke-breaks in the office.
Only when I'm sitting on top of a mountain, the dogs beside and the world below me, I often think I could kill for a cigarette.
But that lasts only for a couple of seconds.

Yet I'm still careful, because I saw some friends relapsing after some years, when they thought it save to smoke only one cig after a dinner or so. They were pretty quickly back in the old habits.

Good luck! Just do it wink

What's funny is that cigarettes have become such a huge cash cow for state and national governments that if the day ever came where everyone quit smoking those governments will have to scramble to find another source of revenue.

It's the same here, and it's been maybe 12 or 13 years since I quit. I still occasionally think about it when I have my first cup of coffee in the mornings since that always went along with my first cigarette. At two to three packs a day at my peak, there's no telling how much money I've saved--not to mention burned clothing and furniture.

Cheers
