...if development limitations (game engine world size) dictated that a WWII flight sim was single player only at first...but it was VERY good at single player...immersive, detailed campaign, populated fields, historically accurate. Not sterile like the sims we've been delivered in recent history...basically everything we haven't had in a sim since EAW -would you be interested?

I know there are online only guys. I'm both, but I personally value a well done single player experience, and would happily purchase a sim that delivered in this regard. What about you?

Absolutely!

If there was an EAW or F4 style campaign I'd pay $1000 for it.

Yes sir, all day long. I'm a single player game gamer first and foremost. Most multiplayer does not interest me most of the time. I prefer a game not do both as rarely both sides hold up.

At that price there is no way I could afford the interest and financing cost.

I will support something like Battle of Britain or MiG Alley.

The trend these days however is towards the IL-2/DCS type formula. Most of those guys are scared shirtless to even comprehend the idea of programming a dynamic campaign.

I would but I don't know if there would be enough support to seriously put such a project forward.

What I WOULD support is someone coming up with an EAW type campaign that takes something like Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow and puts it into an EAW or F4 style campaign. I'd pay up to 40 bucks for that. I'd love to see IL2: BOB with Rowan's campaign.

That would be more feasible IMHO.

I'd pay big bucks for a detailed sim, but not one focussed on WW2, it's been done to death IMO.

I would support any flight sim that had a Rowan or Thirdwire style campaign. CAP2 looks like it might fit the bill.

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?

What's CAP2 ? Google gives me Vietnamese smart phones for search results...
But back on topic, I would support a quality SP WWII sim, not at a US$1,000 price tag. You get the drift.

Cheers,

Vienna, 2nd rock left.
100$ for a DRM-free Singleplayer sim that is detailed without too much switchology/avionics. Up to Vietnam/Falklands, or any earlier conflict.

I'm almost completely single player, too much interference at this end to do the Multiplayer with voice coms etc.
There are so many aircraft that have not yet been done for WW2 that there is still life left in the genre, especially if it is brought up to date with graphics and depth of simulation that could be achieved today.

I think it's this http://www.combatairpatrol2.com/

never seen this game mentioned before, and it looks rather good. I like the fact that the developer alludes to possibly having a flyable phantom in the future.

Yes I would support it with the caveat that full cooperative MP support would be added later.

I'd purchase it, but unlikely to play it too much. If it had online Coop however.
