The Boston Butt is a cut of pork meat that is very popular in the US South for BBQ. When cooked "low and slow" in a smoker it can be made into a very tasty meat. My personal challenge at the moment is to find a way to unconventionally make this cut taste good by using my Nuwave grill. Conventionally this cut is smoked low (temperature) and slow over many hours and turns out delicious! I am trying to find a way to approximate this effect with the Nuwave without compromising the outcome too much. In other words, I want to make 3 pounds of of Boston Butt turn out good in my Nuwave when compared to 6 pounds of the same meat in a restaurant-quality smoker. Wish me luck!

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

Just put a 8# Boston Butt into the Oven.
I seared it on the grill, then after mixing some Redd's Wicked Apple, Apple Vinegar, Garlic Powder, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, and rubbing it with plenty of Salt Lick™ Dry Rub.
Dropped it in the Lodge Porcelain Dutch Oven, covered it in foil, put top on.
Baste every hour.

WILL come out super tender and amazing. Don't have to have a smoker/grill

In my defense, I was left unsupervised...

only way I can see it working is to either take the rack out and let it cook in the liner that is supposed to catch the drippings and fat or to wrap it up. Both of which sorta defeat one of the main points of the nuwave oven.

Quote:
NO ADDED FATS OR OILS - Do you want to eat healthier, lose weight, and gain energy? Not only does the NuWave Oven let the fats and oils drip out of your foods, leaving the nutrients and healthy juices, but it also allows you to cook without adding any extra fats or oils! Using the NuWave Oven has been proven to improve your health and the quality of your food.

How does it know which are the healthy juices?... sorry back on topic

You want the thing to cook in it's juices where as the NuWave is designed to not let that happen. I dunno, if you are really intent on using that to do it, probably have to get a baster and keep at the thing every couple of minutes. Which is going to add a considerable amount to the cooking time.

I know people who use it for pulled pork or pastrami.
