Or they can be imperial gunners on the Death Star.

Seriously though what dorky looking helmets.

Yeah. They look well protected, the shoulder padding and helmet does give them the 'Darth Helmet' look though.

Don't know about the helmets, but the body armor is supposed to be able stop an AK round.

Looks like they took the NVA (East German Army) helmet design a couple of steps further (in the wrong direction, aesthetically).

Just so we're clear: this is not a regular uniform design, but SWAT/ riot police gear. Thankfully. dizzy

Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

That thing looks moronic, let alone crazy non-functional. We've got 15 years of warfighting's worth of helmet technology developed and they chose that?

I never understood NEW body armor nowadays that only cover upper body and doesn't cover the legs and thighs.

Get shot in the femoral artery area and you are dead in less than 1 minute.

FYI -

Those type of helmets originate from what many gun crews in the 1940s used. That is where George Lucas (like many other things in his movies) got his inspiration from as posted previously. Here are some examples of U.S. and Danish gun crews using similar type of helmets in the 1940s:

WW2 U.S. Navy Anti Aircraft Gun Crew
