I've ground my way into the top tier of US, Russia and German trees, got M103, IS4, Jagdtiger, 10.5 Tiger but my favourite is still the ol' Tiger H1.

I made a model of it as a kid and still love the way it clanks and grinds across the battlefield. Get my best scores in it too...

I don't know but I find the heavier better armoured tanks just way too slow to move, to turn, to reload and in the sim matchups at tier V every enemy tank still seems to be able to kill you with one shot unless it is dead ahead.

Give me my kitty kat any day!

Close second is the M18 Hellcat. Ridiculously fast, quick reload, 2-3 shot kill but if I get behind a medium or heavy I can just keep shooting it in the a$$ until it brews up nicely.

Those, the F2, the early T34-s and the Shermie..trying to remember which model. Diving in now for a play with the latest update, going to feel like rollerskates on ice after WoWs Battleships smile I expect to get the sh/t shot out of me until i adjust and feel confident in my H1 again. Tiger is definitely my fave though, put in so much time with her originally that she was just comfortable and a joy to use.

It was a short lived love affair...I am still a Tiger H1 loyalist.

Had a match the other day where my H1 took three hits from an M18, critted it then stayed alive long enough to be rescued by a team mate, repaired, got in a brawl with a Patton, took two hits, killed it, repaired, took the enemy cap, took two more hits and we won the match.

Tiger is the tank that keeps on giving.

H

But that T10 is a mongrel. Put a 122mm cannon in a tank with 80-130mm armour, flat speed 30 mph, low profile, turns on a dime (for a heavy). What's not to love?

What I don't love is that I am grinding my Tiger IIs right now and about 1 in 5 games end up fighting these top tier tanks and can do nothing against them.

The Porsche turreted Tiger II was a brutal grind, the shot trap on the turret took me out of many games very early and I was losing money hand over fist. Took 51 games to grind the tank out fully and right now I have enough to purchase the next variant but not train the crew. Time for some JagdPanther love to get my cash flowing again.

S!

Agree. Only masochists like me play US or German against Russian at top tier/BR.

In US I drive the M18, I don't waste my time in something like my M103 because that's just a quick way to lose lions. In the M18 I can at least get a few captures, if lucky a couple of kills before our side inevitably loses.

In German I do drive the JagdTiger, but hang well back and just snipe. Not great fun, and again, German side usually loses, so there are no XP or lions to be made.

There is a reason you go into any server at this level and the Russian server is full, while the other is a digital ghost town.

I normally play in the 5.0-6.7 BR range. I'm a flanker so therefore like the tanks with some speed, good gun, and little armor. Hit and Run tactics fit me perfectly.

US-Normally I drive the M4A1(76) or M4A3(76). Next is the M18 and absolutely love the M36 when facing higher tier Germans.

Germany-Panther D

Russians-T-34-100

Brits-Firefly tho the 17pdr is absolutely terrible.

The weird thing is I see a significantly higher rate of german side wins in tank sim compared to realistic. I guess going up against better tanks does teach people are thing or two.

At higher BRs a good German side can win pretty easy in sim if they hang back and defend/snipe and attrit the enemy, because allies have a real hard time killing them from anywhere except side/rear. 'Sim' players tend to think about that more than 'realistic' players perhaps?

But if your German team mates all choose Tigers/Ferdinands and think they are invulnerable and run stupidly at the enemy, it's over pretty quick, because all the German Tigers get only one spawn, while the allied T34s, t44s, M18/36s, SPGs etc etc get 2 spawns, so Germans start most matches outnumbered 2:1 by default. Ideal German team tactic is a few Tigers/Ferdis protecting your base and plenty of Panthers attacking the enemy.
