Edit: Why is there a Parachutist Badge with LRRP on the uniform. It isn't authorized. It's just a pin. I have one with my unit patch on it, but it isn't on my uniform that's for sure.

He has an AAM ribbon and claims it is a combat patch/ribbon. His parachutist badge isn't one. He has a Full Bird on the color and Gunny striped on the shoulders.

Basically, the guy is full of crap. I worked with guys out of CAG and Orange and they don't talk crap like this.

I thought impersonating/pretending to be a veteran or war hero is a Federal offense punishable by prison time.

Agree with above, I can't bash this guy, he is clearly mentally ill. He needs help for his problems not bashing from people about it, even if what he's doing makes people angry, his brain's not wired like other people's. He believes what he's saying is true.

There's a guy (I don't subscribe) who used to be on YouTube but now is on a $10/mo deal, that apparently spends his retirement traveling to out fake SEALS. All he has to do is look up their BUD/S class and they're done. The ones I've seen are actually pretty funny (he looks at the camera after he gets some ridiculous story like Mr. Roper did on Three's Company after zinging his wife).

I have seen a few of these through this site but is this mainly an American thing? Just that I haven't heard of this in the UK or elsewhere.

Maybe it's because being in the military in most other countries isn't a status symbol of any kind and it may even be viewed in a negative light.

There was a recent case in I believe Canda. I've heard of a couple of cases in the UK, but maybe it's more of a thing here because we have so many veterans here who take it so very, very seriously?
