In like of the horrific attacks that took place in Paris yesterday, I've been worried about my forum friends that live in France. Are you guys all ok?

Such terrible cowardly attacks on random innocent people. Our thoughts and prayers are with those families who lost someone, and with the 99 critically injured currently.

This was another terrible attack on the free world, and on our friends in France.
My thoughts are with our next neighbours. We are one Europe, and when they hit you,
then they also hit us. We are with you, France!

Thank you , most of the poor souls lost were young people relaxing and enjoying the night life in Paris.

My prayers and well wishes to all our friends in Paris, and throughout France that are dealing with this horrible tragedy.

Unfortunately, the world is stuck living with this cancer, as we know in the US, New York more specifically.
That is of course until something is done about it. I understand tolerance and acceptance as I work for an international airline, and have many friends all over the world... but there is a line that needs to be drawn clearly.

France just bombed the ISIS HQ in Syria... Viva La France!!!

Thank you all, for your words, your support, and sympathy during these terrible hours we have faced in France, and particulary in Paris last friday . We are all have a special think for the victims and their families who have been the victims of darkness and the worst that humanity can produce. It's not the first time, in his long history, that France cross strong difficulties, and everybody in France know that unfortunately, it will happen again. We are actually in war (our president have declared "l'état d'urgence" for the 2nd time in national level during our history). We all know that it will be a long war with lot of innocent victims, but we all know, like during the past France will succeed with help of free world and our numerous allies. Paris latin motto's is "fluctuat nec mergitur", we have lost a battle but we haven't lost the war ... Pray for the victims ...

I hope now, that Barrack and Vlad are big Pals again, we'll get rid of this Problem, soon...
This may sound Hair-splicing, but I don't think, that the Term "War" is correct, here.
War can only be declared against a State, and this so called IS isn't one and will never be.

I'm afraid this crap will never stop until some decisive measures are taken in the Mid East.

What those measures could be, I'll leave to everybody's imagination.

Problem is that in the mind of the terrorists and IS, they are in war against whoever don't lives under their rules ... Perhaps that the term of "war" is inappropriate, but it's a fight between 2 perceptions of what humanity should be ... Unfortunately for them the model they propose will not replace easily, what our ancestors have been fighting for during French revolution of 1789 ... They haven't gives their lives to end with despotism for nothing ... If you come in France at moment you can feel that most of people is proud to be French even if we are afraid about what happened ...

I also wish to send my most heartfelt prayers and sympathies to the people of France. I have always held France in great respect, not only because she has been our ally for over 200 years, but also for all her people have provided the world. The cowardly attacks by this most recent gang of radicals, proclaiming to be fighting for what god wants, are nothing more than sadistic thugs attempting to impose their own twisted will upon this old rock. They no more represent the Muslim people than a putrefied piece of popcorn covered in rancid butter represents an Iowa corn field. IS and other such lunatic assemblies need to be swept from the face of the earth as expediently as possible and with as much force as a united world can gather.

Stay strong you "braves héros de la France", and know that the world stands with you. Vive la France, vive la liberté!

+1 for all of you,

As a present, here is a dedicated poem of Paul Eluard written during dark times in the past and in memory of all of innocent victims all over the world :

Liberté

Sur mes cahiers d’écolier
Sur mon pupitre et les arbres
Sur le sable sur la neige
J’écris ton nom

Sur toutes les pages lues
Sur toutes les pages blanches
Pierre sang papier ou cendre
J’écris ton nom

Sur les images dorées
Sur les armes des guerriers
Sur la couronne des rois
J’écris ton nom

Sur la jungle et le désert
Sur les nids sur les genêts
Sur l’écho de mon enfance
J’écris ton nom

Sur les merveilles des nuits
Sur le pain blanc des journées
Sur les saisons fiancées
J’écris ton nom

Sur tous mes chiffons d’azur
Sur l’étang soleil moisi
Sur le lac lune vivante
J’écris ton nom

Sur les champs sur l’horizon
Sur les ailes des oiseaux
Et sur le moulin des ombres
J’écris ton nom

Sur chaque bouffée d’aurore
Sur la mer sur les bateaux
Sur la montagne démente
J’écris ton nom

Sur la mousse des nuages
Sur les sueurs de l’orage
Sur la pluie épaisse et fade
J’écris ton nom

Sur les formes scintillantes
Sur les cloches des couleurs
Sur la vérité physique
J’écris ton nom

Sur les sentiers éveillés
Sur les routes déployées
Sur les places qui débordent
J’écris ton nom

Sur la lampe qui s’allume
Sur la lampe qui s’éteint
Sur mes maisons réunies
J’écris ton nom

Sur le fruit coupé en deux
Du miroir et de ma chambre
Sur mon lit coquille vide
J’écris ton nom

Sur mon chien gourmand et tendre
Sur ses oreilles dressées
Sur sa patte maladroite
J’écris ton nom

Sur le tremplin de ma porte
Sur les objets familiers
Sur le flot du feu béni
J’écris ton nom

Sur toute chair accordée
Sur le front de mes amis
Sur chaque main qui se tend
J’écris ton nom

Sur la vitre des surprises
Sur les lèvres attentives
Bien au-dessus du silence
J’écris ton nom

Sur mes refuges détruits
Sur mes phares écroulés
Sur les murs de mon ennui
J’écris ton nom

Sur l’absence sans désir
Sur la solitude nue
Sur les marches de la mort
J’écris ton nom

Sur la santé revenue
Sur le risque disparu
Sur l’espoir sans souvenir
J’écris ton nom

Et par le pouvoir d’un mot
Je recommence ma vie
Je suis né pour te connaître
Pour te nommer

Liberté.

Paul Eluard

I cannot add anything to what has been said except my prayers and condolences to the people of France, our oldest ally. I do not know what the leaders of the US will do to aid in the total annihilation of this cancer because they don't seem to know themselves. But, to the people of France: The people of the US are with you.

I had no idea the French National Anthem was so good. For those of you like me that didn't know the words here is a good version with English and French subtitles and I believe it is sung by a military choir. Vive La France.

The last time I sang it, it sounds bitter,
but now, thanks to the Englishmen, it is great again.

Indeed, it's a no-win choice there. We're close enough to a proxy war with Putin as it is. It's a shame that the only reasonable response is to kill as many ISIS troops as possible. Then they can recruit more disaffected young men, kill more innocents, and we bomb the crap out of them again. I guess if they want to be martyrs, we'll just have to oblige and arrange the meeting... rolleyes I'd call them idiots (they are), but this level of wickedness is way past that. I'll NOT hesitate to call them ungodly cowards, though.

I'm glad that apparently all our friends are ok. We stand with you, France.
