Speaking of cool stuff. Has anyone else noticed there are 2 types of windscreen?
The normal one:

And the one with water droplets on it:

Maybe hard to see, but you can zoom in to see better.
Could be old news but I only recently noticed it. wacky

I noticed water droplets on my windscreen for the first time just yesterday so maybe it is a new enhancement.

It's in since day one. Different states of weather, different windscreens. Of course you will notice it more in normal/closer FOV than zoomed out etc. thumbsup

As Creaghorn says, different windscreen glass effect has been in for a long time.
A cool feature that appears no one notices biggrin

I'll be honest: I hadn't noticed. Do the windshields change with changing weather during a flight, or do you have one or the other at the start of a flight and it's that way the entire time?

Pol, if it makes you feel better, I noticed this a long time ago. biggrin JFM, I've never seen them change. I think you get the one that more closely ties with the current weather.

Thanks, Banjoman. I'll pay better attention and look for that detail now.

When I noticed windscreen water droplets for the first time just a few days ago I was in a Nieuport 17. I very rarely fly Nieuports so maybe that explains it. They were quite noticeable in the Nieuport but I've never been aware of them in other planes.

They are also on Albatros screens, when it rains.

Yep, Between the rain impaired vision on the screen, the wind and turbulence bounce, and the cloud effects....sometimes I wonder why I'm flying and not sitting cozy beside a warm wood stove at the home airfield. Last time my DiD pilot was wounded was on a day like that.

Yeah, it feels really as if the water could crawl down the neck!
