Falcon 3.0 was one of the few flight sims I ever played, so, I gave it a shot again.
The frame rates seem identical to the roughly 25 FPS I remember on my 486 DX computer. Those frame rates were acceptable then, but it's hard to play though now. These games were designed and played on hardware that were expected to run around 30 FPS, considered to be acceptable or cutting edge. Thus the games were designed such that the way that units and the physics interacted with one another occur at that framerate, or you might 'break' it, so to speak. So while preserving the framerate is probably necessary to maintain the integrity of the game, actually playing it seems much more difficult than it did back then. I'd have to retrain my mind for it or something. FYI- I tried just a few seconds of Instant Action, much too choppy and clunky response times to find it even practical.

I'm new to GOG. I just bought the collection but I don't see Falcon 4 on my list of available downloads. I see Falcon, Falcon AT and Falcon Gold. Any ideas?

Cool deal for those that like Steam but I still think the GoG version is the better choice. Options are always good though. Wheels
