I walked the Great Glen Way in Scotland with my wife last week over 6 days. The Great Glen Way is a walk from coast to coast in Scotland which follows lochs, including Loch Ness and the Caledonian canal. The walk is 73 or 79 miles dependent on where you read the facts but my wife calculated our walk as about 73 miles.

Here are some of the pics taken with her phone while we were on our travels and a link to my wife's blog describing the sections from her point of view.

That's a LONG walk. Too much for me! I don't have feet like that anymore...

Looks awesome. What wildlife did you encounter along the way?

Stunning shots Tigerwulf; take it the midges aren't prevalent this time of year?

Thanks guys.

Yeah we saw and heard lots of small birds, an otter, we heard a few red deer calling, saw a sika deer, lots of frogs and toads and also a pine martin corpse.

The midges were fine and we only had one instance of them being bit annoying up in the marshes.

Edit: I forgot to also mention the otter which swam up to inspect our camp on Loch Ness before diving into the water again. It was awesome.

Wow! Very nice pics and gorgious scenery. Scotland is way up on my "to do" list, I just somehow never manage to make it.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah Jim it was definitely a challenge. I am immenseley proud of her.

Hehe Brun, they were on the bus back from Inverness to Fort William hehe.

Sure David, what is your screen resolution? I'll resize them down to that because the original images are 5312 x 2988. That first picture you mention was on the way into Fort Augustus just after it had been raining all day and the sun had just come out. Those colours aren't altered and it looked like a chocolate box cover in person.

Amazing and lovely area of Scotland especially around this time of year, when you see all the different colours of the trees and shades of reds of the leaves it is pretty spectacular.

Thanks for sharing.
