Got some canned compressed air today and sprayed it into the base at the bottom of the stick

Seems to be a lot smoother - maybe I dislodged a bit of crap in there?

Anyway - fingers crossed I may have solved the issue

If it comes back I will put some silicon spray on it - I have some on order from Amazon - should arrive next week

Thanks for your help MudWasp

Authority should derive from the consent of the governed, not from the threat of force

If the only tool you have is a hammer, pretty soon everything starts to look like a nail

a shack in da woods
beercheers Hope it works well for you!

Here in the States I can find most stuff like this at an automotive or tractor supply store, or even a big hardware home repair retail chain store.

Another helpful tool or item to have around is a magnifying glass, glass and stand combo, or those goofy looking variable powered glasses. Saw a tv ad for one with lights on it.

A multi tip magnetized screw driver is huge, same for air source

alcohol for cleaning

In the videos the guys work over a work station with a hard surface. I put a towel down when removing small parts so they don't take a crazy bounce and wind up God knows where.

Oh, if a screw or metal part should fall into a carpet, use an old speaker magnet dangled just above the floor to search and rescue it. This works great for working on vehicles too outdoors under the shade tree when a nut or bolt goes awol.
