Almost - I said "almost, Lou! I actually hate the "welding-mask vision" in the N 17.
But WOFF is such a wide field to explore and have fun with, that I will give that
craft another try. I know it was a good fighter, and once I switched from energy
fighting to turn fighting, I should be able to score in her.

Dammit, I knew it wouldn't work: I always wanted to be an island as much as possible.
But the they told me that depression is around the corner, when you don't socialise enough.
Which I only recently experienced.
Yeah, one day the bell will toll - sooo - where are the girls?!? dance

Olham, try the N23 or N24 first... otherwise you'll be sittin' back in your Albatros, again, 5 Minutes later biggrin
The N17 is nice... but... to be totally honest, it is not really the best Plane to convince an Alb-Fan, that there are other fine Aircraft in the Game...

Thanks for the tip, Nietzsche!
I forgot to mention: I had made several attempts in another Nieuport: the N 28,
flying as an American pilot from Toul.
But I never had the time to get good on the craft - the German Pfalz aces
always had me for breakfast. Maybe I should do some good training time south
of Toul, before flying into combat.
I did actually like the N 28, once I had found out how to turn in her -
which is quite different to turning in an Albatros.

How on earth did you get a pic of it inside what looks like a hangar?

Did you taxi inside at the start of a QC?

If so - that is very cool biggrin

Yep, you can taxi into the open hangars. Not only in QC.

I taxi'd into it after I landed.

Olham, I like all of the Nieuports. The N17 isn't the most powerful plane but in it's prime it is a good plane.

If you like the Fokker E.III, you'll love the N17. Get ready to stall. A lot.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Hauksbee, that's a little harsh. The N17 isn't as bad as the E.III, it has a better rate of climb and is faster in level flight. Billy Bishop and Albert Ball seemed to like them. winkngrin

Even the Fokker E.III isn't really bad in it's time.
We must not forget that the development of aircraft was advanced with an incredible tempo in WW1.

Who would have thought, looking at the Eindecker or even the Nieuport 11, that only 3 years later
there could be such powerful planes as the S.E.5a or the SPAD XIII?

The earlier in the war, the less power do these crates have.
So you must fly the Eindecker with very much care about your "energy householding" (does that word
make sense in English?). You will need do dive - at least gently - to be able to perform a tighter
turn. And turning tight for several full circles in one go was someting this early aircraft could
not do. For planes developed only one or two years later, this was a definite must-be; urgently
requested by the fighter pilots.

Yep, I agree completely with your analysis Olham. I believe the word you were looking for would be Energy Management.

Yes, of course, that's it! Damn, these scrambled eggs I'm using for a brain -
not much memory in there. Maybe I should put pepper and salt on it?

Don't beat yourself up too much, remember English isn't your native tongue. I'm sure if I were to try and speak German I would be far worse. You can speak at least two languages and I'm struggling to just learn Spanish.
