A personal favorite of mine, as is Grand Prix Legends... when I need a break from WWI.

If you loved RB3D back in the day, then you might also remember Panzer Elite. This was yet another fantastic, detailed game loaded with realism and depth, however, suffered from a poor graphics engine (even for it's time) and lack of historical accuracy.

But... real in a supportive community as WOFF, RB3D and others have and you get PP2-x.

Take a look. It's still going strong with lot's of new/updated vehicles, sounds, graphics. It's a blast to play even for today's standards. Sometimes simple is just better.

I do have it (modded up) but have not touched it for a couple of years. Back when I had XP. Probably still go with W7...I'm a thinking.

I thought it was well done and even the modded graphics ain't too bad considering its age and the engine.

EDIT: Ohhh I just got back from checking the link out. Looks mighty fine to me. Need more hours in the day!
May have to do some downloading later. *Just checked further. It does work with W7. No Eastern Front apparently. That's where I like to play. The Ost Front is incredibly interesting and full of high drama.

Yeah, it's changed a lot even from then... it's pretty damn good now, even for an almost 20 year old game!

I have seen a few posts about the game modded, is it the same game?

If it is I may have to give it a go. I have purchased many of the old war games from GoG in case I ever want to try them in the future, but at my age the chance of even trying a fraction of them is remote.

Edit; I just noticed I have "Panzer Elite Action Gold" in my GamersGate Library, never installed it either.
Anyone know what the difference is? Seems to be a lot of Panzer Elite versions around.

The version to mod is the PE Special Edition.

After that... just go here and follow along. This new mod version has blended in all the best mods and updates into one huge package for you.

You can also load some other smaller sound mods, and don't forget the updated vehicle mod.

Drop the mods into your 'mod' folder in the PE directory and run the Mod Enabler that comes with the 1.2 update.

This is the PP2-x mod, with what sounds like a sound mod as well.

How do you run the game. I installed the GoG version it shows v1.2 SE.
On Win7 64 bit it will not run at all gives a lack of texture memory or something similar. Tried in direct3D and software mode with nglide. Compatibility mode did not work either.

The PC I surf the web with is a XP dual core machine with intel intergrated graphics. The game ran in 640 x 480 16 bit, looked better with software mode using nglide. As soon as I installed the mod the game no longer launched.
It did not show any 32 bit versions on either PC, is that correct?

Looks like this is not going to be easy, and ideas, or could you let me know how you run the game and the operating system you use.
