There seems to be a lot of you! If you are looking to go that extra mile with your new pilot, why not consider a new paint job for your favorite scout? If you do consider it, you'll probably want to check out the skinning thread. Some very talented people have contributed lots of great information to help you out! It's also a great place to get assistance with all your skinning needs! If you are not new, please check it out again as it has been updated considerably over the months, most recently with a great bit courtesy of Nietzsche. So please stop by for a spin when you have some time!

Well, that was serendipitous, then! Good luck, ask lots of questions and, above all, we need pictures of your results!!!

Yes, pictures please. I for one always enjoy seeing the personal liveries my fellow WOFF fliers come up with.

BTW:
It might be a cool Feature, if we manage to establish a Thread or File-Collection or so, where we could up-/ download our Custom-Skins, so others could use them, also.
There are a lot of Skins here, that I would like to fly around with woot

Well, as long as we don't have a download section for skins here, you might try out
some of the skins in the Download Section here:

CombatAce Downloads - OFF & WOFF Aircraft Skins

Through a forum breakdown, many of the screenshots got lost.
But you can still download the skins for your desired aircraft, and try them out.

Well - you did ask

The immersion bug hits me further

Had a few hours this evening to start a new pilot, but decided that I just could not start without painting my machine
So I spent my potential flying time painting instead smile2
This is what I have come up with

But that's only the half of it
I have decided on a nice little roleplaying career for my next pilot
I have managed to find a German Squadron that starts with Roland's a few days before the Somme begins
If I can survive until September, then I get to transfer to a Jasta flying the new Alb D1
Reckon flying over the Battle of the Somme will be exciting, to say the least

But now, before I start, I feel that I have to make my own skin for the Roland

Man - this Sim is awesome salute

Looks like you were REALLY into something colourful after the ever greens and browns on British planes, Max!
Mind you, the Lozenge camo appeared on fighters only in late 1917, or even 1918.

Looking at the screenshots - it did look a bit too disco smile2

have turned down the saturation a bit so it is not quite so Dayglo

Kept the same pattern though 'cos I love it smile2

Think it looks better in the slightly muted colours

That looks great! I think you brought it down just the right amount. And for all anyone knows, maybe it was your pilot who started the whole lozenge scheme in the first place and everyone was copying you later in the war!

Both Versions are looking totally cool copter
The first One is more a bright Ace-Skin... colored like a poisonous Caterpillar. I guess, this "Biological-Defense-Effect" was the main Reason for Pilots to paint their Planes in a Way, that they could easily be spotted... I'm dangerous - don't come closer.
The 2nd one is a real Camo - should blend perfectly into the Environment from some Distance...

By the Way:
I made a perfect Camouflage. I used a special Color-Technique, that makes the Plane nearly invisible, as you can see below:

rofl
Joke aside, it is sometimes scary, in what Weather-Conditions one is supposed to fly AND find something... like a Target... or your own Airfield LOL

That camouflage is almost perfect biggrin

And that weather you are flying in - man I haven't experienced anything quite that bad yet

Must be absolutely bloody terrifying

Part of that disco effect is that the lozenges are quite large. But, version#2 is much better.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

@maxpeck:
Yeah... it was night, foggy with heavy Snowfall. Visibility was barely more than 50 Meters. You know, flying in Summer, with shiny Weather is great Fun, but WOFF really excells in all kinds of bad Weather pilot
