1. It's useless outside the city. I live in a rural area, GPS coverage is spotty at best. Dirt roads, unmarked trails and difficult terrain.
2. It's boring. I like driving, it's a fun activity. It can be exciting, it can be relaxing, it's time to yourself. I find being a bus or train passenger incredibly dull.
3. I'm not in control. I'd much prefer to die knowing it's my own fault or negligence than put my life in someone or something else's hands.
4. We'll still need driver licenses. Or pay to register your cars driving software. No government is going to give up a source of income like that.
This is Bobby Rahal, thanks for playing the trial version of Microsoft's CART Precision Racing
Only if I become too old/disabled to drive myself.

Well, I'd say on account of those points it will be anything but boring. Stark terrifying, you'll most likely climb out of it a nervous wreck from half a dozen near death experiences just coming home from work! What a thrill, sign me up!

Exactly. And with driverless cars the liability will be on the manufacturers/software developers if there is a glitch that causes an accident. The person is simply a passenger so any and all liability is removed from them.
This would easily become a legal/litigation nightmare.

No. Fifty drawbacks for one benefit isn't worth it. That and I work on computers, and considering their abysmal ability to complete even the most basic functions without error, no thanks.
It's like buying an electronic gun. Oops, firmware needs an update, afraid it won't go bang today.
Or an electric toilet. Sorry, there was a problem with version 3.4.9623 that causes a permanently flushing toilet.

I usually have to drive into Manhattan once or twice a month for work...for that alone it will be worth it. Absolutely hate those days when i have to drive in and be stuck in two to three hours of traffic...and i live like 25 miles out.

Manhattan: Great place to visit but I would never, ever live there or work there.

Well i live and work in Jersey...which is a pretty #%&*$# place as well. Mostly property taxes and ridiculous property prices just because of proximity to Manhattan. I only go into Manhattan when i have marketing meetings.
Now...to be honest...when I was with my ex..before i met my wife...she worked in Finance and made a good amount and had a swanky apartment in upper west side with a nice river view. I kind of enjoyed Manhattan on the weekends...when i don't really have to drive anywhere...just metro or taxi or walk anywhere...its kind of nice to not need a car to go anywhere. Of course i wasn't paying 5000 a month for a one bedroom apartment...do makes it easier to enjoy
I would love to be able to nap going to and from work, or read, or just play Angry Birds. There's zero "joy" in driving in Florida. Bumper to bumper retirees with limited ways to get from A to B make it super frustrating.
I especially would like it if everyone else was in a driverless car, because it's much easier to predict what a computer car will do than a person using their cellphone.

No. I enjoy driving but then again I live in Kansas and I enjoy driving across Kamsas so to most of the world I may be a weirdo.

Hey, endless wheat and corn fields are fun to see in person.

I would never buy one for my personal car for the same reason that I always buy manual transmission cars, I enjoy driving and the control of the car, but it would be a good option to have driverless cars to avoid DUI, and also to reduce the amount of traffic on the roads, and to free up the morons I see texting while they drive from the driving, they can focus on twittering every thought and posting selfies the whole ride.
