Im no footdive expert mind you but this is what I was taught. If you are on offense inside the goal box you can not forward pass the ball to a team mate unless there are two opponents in front of him. In this case you passed it to a team mate with only one opponent between her and the net which is offsides. You kicked it and recovered it. As soon as you recovered it the call would have gone out. if the goalie would have caught it and played then they wouldnt have called it as the ball would have switched ownership.

Yeah good explanation, also because the offside player became active in the play, she can be offside as long as she doesn't affect the play, i.e. if the original shot had gone in, but once the offside player attempts to play the ball or influence the play it's called offside.

A player on your team can not recieve the ball in the opposing team's half of the pitch unless there is at least one opposing player and the goal keeper between the recieving player and the opposing teams goal line. Isn't it at the time the pass leaves the foot of the passer? Meaning, if when the pass is initiated, there was a defender between the receiver and the keeper...but then the receiver speeds past the last defender and receives the pass behind the defender...it's legal right? I have done a lot of through passes this way. As long as there is a defender between when you start the pass...you can loft it over and if your receiver has a speed advantage he can receive the pass past the defender as long as the pass started with the defender between. Not 100% on that though.

Sorry yes, by receive I mean the ball is coming to you i.e. you are receiving the ball. If you chase after it you are chasing after the ball not receiving it as you are behind the ball not in front of it.

Force10's explanation is correct. When this thing happens it is mostly up to the linesman to decide if offsides is applicable or not - the main referee tends to accept the linesman's call in most cases.
The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.
