Here are some pics from my new life as a 737 pilot. Posted from my iPad, so apologies if the orientation is out. Holding behind a Singapore Airlines A380 at Heathrow Later the same night at LHR On the ground in Zrich, Switzerland This was taken today at Longyearbyen, Svalbard - also known as Spitsbergen, a cluster of islands at 78 degrees north. The runway is laid on permafrost, so it is really bumpy! To give you an idea of how far north this is, the maximum allowed operating latitude of the 737 is 80 degrees north, just 110 nm further north. Barrow, Alaska is at 71 degrees north
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I think you need to work on your rolls and banking Why the 80deg limit? Does the GPS/compass crap out? The IRS systems won't align above that latitude. They take much konger to realign between flights the further north you are.

i've often wondered, how far behind another aircraft do you have to stay when holding? im guessing theres some sort of minimum due to the exhaust air? (or whatever you call the hot air that comes out the back of jet engines!)

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

Nice having the "follow the green lights taxiway" isn't it. Taxiways can be extremely confusing.

I didn't know Switzerland was in the southern hemisphere. Everything is upside-down down there.
Offtopic: what's the story with Beach? Huge loss, I really liked his AARs.

They take much konger to realign between flights the further north you are. Really? I thought the IRS would find you at any latitude and make you PAY. As for Beach, he's busy with his own site at mudspike now. Einstein and FF are there with him. The Jedi Master
