Why, build a mock up of course!!

Over the years ive acumulated a fair amount of peripherals. This is the result when all of it is having a gathering:
I shudder at the sight of all those wires

Nice start attackmack!

But I hate to tell you... if you build a mock up of a pit, it is a clear indication that you are infected with a disease that will lead to your overriding need to create sawdust from perfectly good lumber, separate you from your hard earned money, and will lead to you saying things like 'I'll be done after doing just one more thing to the pit' and actually thinking it's the truth (it isn't BTW). wave My wife calls it a obsession... I just consider it continual improvement! dancinfools

That's a good thing right?

Ive succumbed to this disease long time ago biggrin

Whats been holding me back is my lack of proper tools and workshop.
Tools and a few machines ive been able to collect over the years but still dont have a proper workshop.
I do have a very small place ill be able to use this winter as a little workshop and ive rearranged my apartment so that there is a corner of the main room where a proper simpit could sit.

So plans are in the making for what will hopefully be some company to the seat pictured above, which itself is from a project I started a year ago. Its that project that I am now planning to take up again smile

While that setup looks sweet, the biggest issue I've found is how to get in and out comfortably. I've worn out the bottom of my car seat climbing in the "pilot method" whereas when I had the side console separate, I could just get in "car driver method" and it was fine.

The sideconsoles is separate pieces and initially the plan was a "car door" style setup.
But the overall build is so low to the ground im gonna wait and see when the frames are built how i will handle entry/exit.

The "pilot way" feels nice but i can see it being an issue longterm.

The "pilot way" feels nice, yes, but can be difficult if you like pizza and beer a bit. biggrin

I wonder if that is a loophole actually: Domino's? Can you deliver a pizza with anchovies? Right now I at your delivery zone.

"Rough" is not the word that comes to my mind, when viewing that. Words like "solid" and "slick" are what occur to me.

Well done! I'm looking forward to seeing where you take it. yep

Some more progress has been done to the pit, last of which is the implementation of the audiosystem.

Thank you guys, ive made a little progress since last but nothing worth posting about.
Right now it will stand "as is" for a while as im finishing up some extra work and focusing on other things.
But im constantly thinking about how to make the switch panels and what will be featured on them.

Nice!
You are my mentor!

How have you made the seat?

Its not the bullet with your name on it you have to worry about.
