If it stops the matches where all you face in your IS1 is an endless wave of Tiger Is, it could be interesting. Matches with a few high rated vehicles and several lower rated (quality vs quantity) could be interesting but I think they would prove the Soviet doctrine very quickly so could become boring for all except the Russian side. 10 t34s will kill 1 tiger, a couple of panthers and several panzer iiis any day.

Yes, I think the figures in Normandy and beyond was about 5 shermans to 1 tiger... but that's history

Grinding a Panther G right now and it sure feels like they nerfed the armour, seems everybody is shooting me through the front plate now. Angled or not.

Running into piles of T34-100's which is part of the problem (BR at 6.3 seems really low to me).

Yeh, it feels like tinfoil armour. Almost all deaths are one shot deaths in the Panther. I dont like the Tiger II either. Neither can compete against similar BR russian tanks.

Tier IV I only use IS2, SU or M18. Never German.

Reading the forums and reddit it seems the new BR system is a huge flop.

He also talks about ground forces. Biggest problem is they overcompressed the BR ranges. People have been begging for more fine-grained spreads, reducing the matchmaking range to 0.7 for a start. Now they make 7.7 the highest tank tier and rely on quantitative matchmaking instead. Now there's tanks are facing each other that really shouldn't be.

My Premium time just ran out and it could not have been timed better, you really need to chose BR carefully now to get a half decent game. Overall time for a break from War Thunder Ground Forces until they sort out this mess they have created.

That vid explains why I dont like driving anything except russian machines above about BR6. I can take two or three hits in any IS2 or up, but only ever one hit in a Tiger II up.

Unfortunately I'm not the only one who's realised this (!), so the wait to join a russian side is always about 3x as long as the wait to join a German or US side.
