Here's the IGN review of the first official, Disney-approved "canon" book. Apparently it's a filler for the time between Episode VI and VII.

From what I've read so far about that book (including an interview with the author somewhere else, forgot where), I'd rather have Zahn's Thrawn-trilogy back*.

*back, as in, official canon.

Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

Disney has to get their cut man!!

As for me, I never had any interest in reading any of the SW books. The films are plenty enough for me.

$14 for the Kindle version of a $20+ hardcover book is about standard.

I've never paid that, but then I don't buy hardcover books either.

In pre-Kindle days I did all the time. I have dozens of hardcover novels I paid over $20 for.

If everyone read as much as Jedi has over the past 25+ years places like Borders and Waldenbooks would have never gone out of business. biggrin

Yes, and I still maintain that my Kindle purchase DID doom them.

The book wasn't too bad. For those that read it, do you feel like the Fleet Admiral at the end may be a reintroduction of Thrawn?

In addition, the painfully pro-homosexual sidebars referenced in several reviews are offensive to many (including myself); for that matter, Star Wars books focused on sexuality/sexual identity/contemporary social issues of any sort is at best an unnecessary distraction. Combined with the weird use of present tense throughout that I have seen in the excerpts, I think will give this a pass.

Also, I think books such as Lords of the Sith and Heir to the Jedi are also considered official cannon, so Aftermath is not the first.
