Calling Mr Jelly or anyone else
Took a while, had to rebuild my XP PC, but success as of yesterday and am back in thw air biggrin
Have reloaded from backed up discs most of the games such as Fading sun, PT2, SWOTL, Midway, RAW, DAW, Malta and BOB. Still have a few others to put on.
Did the briefing screen fix etc and am good to go.
One question though what was the no CD fix that worked and how did it work ????
I cannot remember and it's not in my paperwork or saved files.
Also, are there any new worthwhile mods???
I've been out since 2010.
I was surprised all my backup discs worked so well, many were 10 to 13 years old!!!
Keen to hear guys ta

Hi Red

Nobody had done anything for 1.2 for years apart from VBH
What we are using these days is summarised in this screenie

We are using EAW140
There is basically an "all-in-one" download, and the filemanager above lets you choose an exe, choose a "Dir.set" (theatre), choose a planeset and fly.
Virtually nothing is loaded into the root folder other than scripts that tell the exe where to find the files it needs.

As you see it covers PAW (using Ray's South Pacific Air War), DAW, SAW, and several ETO variations.

I can give you a link to get a reduced size test set-up which just has the default ETO planes if you are interested.
There is also a similar download of EAW 1.29 with BoB, Malta and SWOTL which have not been converted to EAW140 format.

EDIT:

The link is here: http://1drv.ms/1wEtRdT

Download "140Trial" and run it anywhere.
It is a 7-zip self installer and it creates a standalone "140Trial" folder with everything you need in it.

There is a simple DSP140 filemanager which you run:

You can choose either the old or the new map version of the eaw.exe. There is only one choice of theatre (DefaultEAW) and you must choose a planeset even though there is only planeset1.

It is a test set-up to see if EAW140 runs OK on your system.
I have included my "eaw.ini" file, but you may want to replace it with one of your own.

Most graphics issues can be fixed by running a windower program, we can check that if we need to.

wink Jel

This looks similar to the FAW interface which I have. If that works will the EAW 140 work?

No.
Use the link I posted and get the 140 test install. It is 115 megabytes so not a big d/l by today's standards.
