Lets you do a day race at Rio with all aids forced on, then a day race at Lime Rock where beginning here you can tweak all the assists and drivatar and controller/wheel settings, night race at Yas Marina, daytime Indycar race at Indy, rain race at Sebring, and you can restart the races as often as desired to try to beat the times and rivals.
The physics/FFB feel great with the controller and with the TX wheel, tracks look great, and the night and rain racing is really well done, especially the 3d rain puddles which cause hydroplaning and can even pull the wheel to the side if you don't cross it the right way, and all this runs at 60 FPS 1080p.
It's the Forza I was hoping for with nextgen before the disappointment of the rushed and limited content Forza 5, the only thing I wish is that they did dynamic rain/night like they do in FH2, but I'll just hope that there's a way to have random weather somehow when setting up races, also I notice a bit more jaggies than in FH2, hopefully that's something they can improve via patching.
Overall very pleased and really looking forward to the release
The only race where I saw problems with the AI was in the Indy oval race, I had to crank up the drivatars to Expert to have competition on that one and still every once in a while some car would slow up and be a moving chicane which I had to avoid.
On the road courses I didn't notice much of an issue, every once in a while drivatars mess up like they do in FM2, but I'm used to that and avoiding them, good training for the idiots online.
Loved it... but you still got to remember, the Forza series is more of a car lovers game, I mean it has races and all... but it's for collecting, driving all these cars... a online car collection, testing, and fun... a matchbox car game. unlike more serious racing games like the PC games, IE: iRacing and even pCARS.
I thought the wet racing at Sebring was cool and fun, but a little exaterated, more slippery then I would imagine it was, hell I can take my police car around turns better then the race cars did.
I like the mod idea, but I hope those are blocked in MP.
Speaking of MP, I will be setting up the SHQM (SimHQ Motorsports) league on FM6 when released, just like with prior FM games, (FM5 didn't have it but FH2 did), please join even if you don't plan on doing online races, but just to get better drivatar behavior and good times to compete with.
(BTW, not affiliated with this SimHQ, but with permission and blessings as always from SHQM.)
2 main Reasons: - I plan to be in alot of FM6 Pro Level events, so Im not sure if we are required to be in a specific club to have a specific tag - The Ongoing drama between SimHQ and myself in specific sections of the forum. I rarely post here outside of 2 or 3 seconds now.
My mission right now is to find a cheaper wheel option: -Upgrading Fanatec is $300 for HUB + Rim, + Cost of WheelBase, whether new v2 or v1 from ebay, at least $500. -Thrustmaster TX, from Ebay Might be a good option if I can find a Deal, I HATE the plastic, so replacing rim and pedals. $125 for pedals + cost of whatever on ebay. $259 for the wheelbase alone (no rim/pedals) is stupid, when the whole package is $299 -Madcatz, $399 and it's garbage -the $50 Hori/Generic Brands, etc, are a waste, HOWEVER, if I use Chronus Max, I wonder if it'll forward to the console that it's a Wheel instead of a controller, removing the issue from using Chronus Max altogether.

been playing it since... it's a great, fun game... but as most of us know the Forza series is NOT a racing sim... and thou I love it for what it is, a car collectors dream, and test drive game... I got some serious problems with whats going on today.
Mainly, way to much braking, even for high end race cars required in turns, a lot of turns that shouldn't require braking at all still does, and every corner, with almost every sport car requires a drift turn, no grip what so ever on the track. IMO
along with the long standing problem of no true feel between the tires and the road, like driving on glass minus the occasional bump or two.
and finally the AI, trying to play on a higher level with real damage and all, never understand this avatar AI crap... cars stopping or slowing when not needed, being overly aggressive... etc etc...
I'm not complaining, thou it seems I am, lol... it's just that this is NOT a racing sim for console, it's a car collector and testing game. again imo.
Still looking forward to some MP with you guys, and rival runs. Right now I'm up against rivals in the 5 min mark on a 2 min course, lol. no challenge...till you guys start putting out.
Yeah the AI on the Indycar event in the demo was damn suicidal! They dropped their speed so much in the corners sometimes that it was like avoiding a stopped car.
I did notice they added an option to turn off the Drivatar Aggression... I might use that if M.Rossi drivatar still drives like an ass
Really looking forward to playing it tonight, was just able to do the RIO intro race before work, and already I saw that the track layout seemed to be longer than the demo.
I'll join up on the SHQM league the next time I log in, but won't be doing multiplayer due to high ping. Looking forward to seeing your drivatars on the track.
Enjoying the game so far.
------------ <Uh... put signature here... and stuff>
I definitely miss the clubs and I miss being able to setup custom multiplayer lobbies like I used to in FM4 to host Nordschleife or Fujimi Kaido track days... looks like MP is just the classes that they have available.
Really enjoying FM6 but I just hope they bring back those features.
They really did a nice job improving the reflections and sound compared to FM5:

Hey Skatezilla,
I have the TX and, while I did ultimately replace the stock wheel, once it's mounted to the base it actually feels very solid and the rubber sides of the wheel actually feel very good in the hands.
I would highly recommend the TX wheel. But, I'd say upgrading the pedals is more of a "must" than upgrading the rim. The T3PA pedals (or T3PA Pro pedals) are a must have. However, if you happen to have a set of G27 pedals handy you can use those as well with a $20 adapter from Ricmotech (that's what I used until my T3PA pedals came in).
Oh, and the TH8A shifter is excellent as well.

I can definitely see some of the frustration with the Drivatards - I'm running them at expert level with aggression disabled which gives a good challenge for 1st but I still get surprised coming through the pack sometimes when they hit the brakes at unexpected places, especially on tracks like Sonoma which I know well from iRacing and can do much better times and lines than them.
Hopefully once the game is out the drivatars will improve, in the meantime I sort of treat them like Gran Turismo AI or pickup online racers, I leave extra space for braking and extra room before I close the door after passing, otherwise they can brake check me or put a bumper in my rear quarter panel and spin me out.
I got stuck on a career race... wet at B hatch... too small, 24 Avatar cars nothing but a damn crash fest... wish we could skip races, tried it 10 times never a top 3 to continue, so I quit the career already...
what I do love and very well done is the sub-career modes like the showcases and the stories of motorsports... great races like High speed chase, moments in motorsports, endurance challenges etc etc
and when working the league races are cool, along with MP...pretty well done compared to prior.
Thx Skate... I might just pick that up instead of doing the Fanatec dance and confusing upgrades... cheaper and easier.
I might nab the $49 Hori XBO Wheel from New Egg and borrow a Cronus Max adapter to see if I plug in the hori wheel to authenticate if it'll see my Fanatec Gear as a wheel instead of a controller, lol.

You won't regret it, the $300 TX wheel is 10X better than the Fanatec GT wheel I was using for XB360, plus there's various rims available (rubber, leather, alcantara, F1) which are much cheaper to buy than the Fanatec ones and the special XB1 hub they make you buy too which is another ripoff.

The G920 is mainly a more expensive updated G27 to work with XB1 and PS4...
I upgraded from a G27 to the TX wheel and the FFB is a lot better wiht the TX so I think the TX FFB will be better than the G920 FFB.
The main benefit of the G920 is if you need both the XB1 and PS4 compatibility in one wheel. The TX is only XB1 compatible, Thrustmaster has a separate T300RS which is PS4 compatible.
Note: I was wrong about the Logitech G920 being compatible with both the XB1 and PS4.
It turns out the G920 is only XB1 and PC compatible, and a similar but separate wheel the G29 is PS4, PS3, PC compatible, so cross console compatibility is not really there same as Thrustmaster or Fanatec.
Here is a review that compares the G29 to the G27, and it looks like an expensive minor update only, not worth it in my opinion compared to the TX.
My copy of Forza 6 just arrived, a day early for the UK which is cool. Will be logging on this evening
Cool, hope you get better luck in the level up spins than I've had. I won the Bugatti on the first spin but all the spins since then I've just won the small credit prizes instead of the nice cars... good reminder why I don't gamble, my luck is terrible hehe.
BTW for anyone else using a TX wheel, I've been really happy using 540 degree rotation and the medium sensitivity setting I saw posted on reddit which is configured by holding the TX right paddle and pushing the mode button until it blinks green twice. Feels really great and allows catching spins.
Well I've won a couple of cars on the spins, including £2m Lotus and also £1m in cash
I love it so far! The production value is sky high. The career is well done with the way they've done the volumes and different race styles. Started off with Japanese street and the Evo VI. I love Evos.
The sense of speed in the Indy car showcase was incedible.
Leaving for a week, but when I return will be looking to set up some Multiplay if interested... post your ideas on best day of week, times, tracks and cars... might develop a series if interested enough and get some prize going.
be sure to do those rivals, and like I said those showcases are pretty awesome too.

I've won a couple cars, and 1 million credits. Each spin has been pretty great actually. Are you a Forza VIP, that doubles your credits.
Also, for your wheel, are you using the "simulation" in game setting? I just got my TX yesterday, and am having the "oh you touched the brake pedal slightly? here's a spin!" issues people are reporting around the webz.
I'll try the sensitivity item mentioned above, and see if that helps.

Ah good spins!
Yeah I am using simulation steering, 540 degrees and took out the deadzones.
I had that brake locking problem once too, and apparently Forza6 calibrates the axis range value of your pedals based on the first 3 times they are used in the session, so when you start forza you should push all the pedals to full a couple of times to make sure it calibrates them with full range in the game, that fixed the issue for me, I've been able to do great threshold trailing braking going into corners and the sound is so great on the tire squeal that they just start to chirp a bit letting you know to not brake harder or it will lock, much better tire audio feedback than iRacing even
