Olham, I share the others' sympathies - and as well, I am glad you took, and continue to take, the steps you need to beat the beast. I must admit that it it comes as a bit of a surprise - someone as bright, as helpful, as cheerful, as you always are around here, a truly good & kind soul (and Barmy to boot!), and yet tormented by something not of your own making.

Years back, you'd hardly made acquaintance with me on the old CA board and you offered to make a pilot avatar for me from my photo and a suitable WWI pilot - that was touching, and shows what a good heart you have. It took me a long time to find a decent photo of me as a young man - my family broke up during that time and I have very few photos from then - but I still want to thank you for the offer.

I ended up in treatment due to problems of my own making; but still, when my life was spiraling out of control, one of the best things I ever did was to seek treatment.

Take care, come 'round when you can, & I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hi Olham,

glad hearing from you. I'm confident you'll beat the beast. If not today, then tomorrow. But you'll get there.

The forum is not the same without you.

Assumed you'd gone to teach the Turks to fly the Albatros, old chap. But 'twas depression rather than the Dardanelles, eh?

As Lou says, we're here... if you need us.

Oh that I was back in the dear old PBI.
With no more Triplanes on me tail, nor tracer tracing by.
And no more flames and clickerty-clack and no more blooming sky,
And only a couple of feet to fall whenever I want to die.

Sally Sparrow: I love old things. They make me feel sad.
Kathy Nightingale: What's good about sad?
Sally Sparrow: It's happy for deep people.

Thanks, Olham, you're quite the good-hearted one. Take care of yourself, first, though & I'll see what I can find. BTW, those are stunningly beautiful screenshots that you showed Capt Sopwith on the other thread.

Best,

Tom

Thanks, HD - but that's WOFF.

Gee, I am feeling a bit better today. They sent me off to sleep at home.
I only go there for therapies, Monday - Friday from 8 - 16 h.

May more good days come your way, Olham.

Times yes, but believe it or not, in a depression you often don't even feel
capable for that - it feels like a real strain of a real war pilot, his fears included.
I give it time, and when I feel like, I'll try it.

Yep, I've felt that way at times, just called it being in a funk. Sometimes I felt guilty or angry with myself for not not doing what I used to enjoy.

One of these days you'll wake up and want to fly, or do something else that hasn't been done since the dark fog set in.

Yes, I know that very well. Even without a depression, I had phases like that.
I think it's okay - we are not on duty.

Yes, I am working hard to get there, and I'm sure I'll be.

That depression fog probably didn't amass all in one day, so it probably takes some time to lift.
Don't get discouraged if days with little or no change run a streak.
