This sim has no MP, it´s just single player, the best richest, more realistic single player campaign in the WW1 you have ever experienced, but without online play.

If WOFF would have an MP-Mode, it would be the ONLY Game, I would consider connecting my Home-PC to the Internet...
I'm absolutely sure, that Formation-Flying with a Human-Only-Squad will end up in a total Desaster, though driving rofl

A small group of us used to fly OFF Phase 3 together online. It was a lot of fun, being able to directly share the experience. Formations weren't that difficult to maintain and a few of us even landed in formation several times. And I suspect it will/would be even easier using Oculus (assuming Oculus lives up to expectations and assuming WOFF supports/is compatible with it). But flying against another human is impossibly glitchy. A shame, IMO, because pleasure shared is pleasure multiplied.

I remember in one of the Phase 4 Preview movies that there was a screenshot of the Workshop and it showed a Multiplayer button. Evidently they were working on something but felt they couldn't get it to be what they wanted and so pulled it from the project. I believe - don't quote me on this - I recall it being a cooperative experience they were working towards. Maybe someday.

At least WOFF is still being very actively developed and supported. It is, to my knowledge, the only WWI flight sim out that has that distinction anymore of pushing out new content in significant quantities. FE2 hasn't had an update in years and RoF is literally just a single new plane every 6 to 8 months. Both fine sims, but no longer in active development. WOFF is it.

I remember flying OFF P1-P2 online with a bunch of people also (Boys of 60th Europe).
Is this still somehow possible? I find the idea of online career (have the game generate the mission, then start it via CFS3) with friends a VERY lucrative proposition, if possible smile

Campaign Co-op in WOFF would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Not "Air Quake" but true co-op.
Can you imagine you and a couple pals all in the same flight and squadron flying missions in a campaign? Or a two-seater career with you as the pilot and a friend as observer?
How cool can you get? Awesome I tell you...pure and simple.

I don't want to be that guy, but isn't that already provided in ROF. I've never flown ROF but I thought that is what it allowed you to do.

If that should be possible WITHOUT causing any problems for the whole world of WOFF, I would vote for it.
But only then. Cause the single-player campaign in WOFF is the grandest thing I ever "played" as a sim,
and I wouldn't want it to be made less stable, for the sake of MP flying.

I am in doubt that would even be possible without significant modification to original CFS3 code.

We had MP already, with P2 or even P3 - not sure.
So, it IS possible.
Question is - is it possible without corrupting important bits of WOFF?
Cause, there must be a reason why it was not added.
Maybe the performance was simply needed elsewhere.

Has to be co-op with the current campaign engine for me.
And yes it's probably going to be tricky!

Really? That sounds great. I can imagine that would be a fantastic present in WOFF GOLD whoohoo .

We used to fly Co-ops in OFF online. It was about the only way online worked for OFF. And, you could fly as a gunner in a plane that was flown by another live person.

Really?
Boy my memory is poor as I do not remember that.
Of course until E:D and my satellite and wifi connection (used to be dial-up) I avoided anything online. Maybe I blanked it all out!

Modification to the code? I don`t understand, P1-P2 had online alternative, was no need for base-code alterations back then, should be none now either (otherwise we would have had moving MG hammers already) smile
Not so much a dream as actually fully possible if we can find out where the generated mission file is stored and how to launch it for online use smile
