Hello everyone

I'm interested in how you like to have your Guns set in the Workshop-Menu. Until some Time ago, I used to fly around with Accuracy-Settings "Normal/Normal" and Player Guns "Strongest"
Meanwhile I prefer "Less Accurate/Less Accurate" and "Normal" for Player Guns.
We already had a Discussion here, where most People came to the Conclusion, that "Less Accurate" is more "Real"
The Player Gun Power does indeed make a huge Difference - especially when it comes to shooting down Bombers. I had an FE for Example, that soaked up almost 50 "Normal" Hits (scattered evenly across the whole Plane) - and still flew on as if nothing happened... even managed to land on his usual Airfield without Problems (watched it in "j"-Mode)... and that wasn't a rare Exception.
With "Strongest"-Setting, such an FE can stand roughly a dozen Hits before the Wings come off...

Has anyone Played around with AA-Settings?

Greetz,
Nietzsche

High over the Front
I personally play "Normal" all around except in "Rear Gunner Accuracy" which I have set to "Less than Normal" in a attempt to balance out their, quite accurate, shooting.

+1 for "theDuke Settings"!

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

These are the kind of discussion which can potentially benefit my MODS in one way or another. Like these silly questions that have been on my mind since I made my latest MOD about bullet damage to canvas and wood. If referring to ballistics, how many bullet hits would it take to....

1. rip the canvas on the control surfaces (wings and ailerons) enough to make them non-functional?

2. Destroy the wood enough to cause a structural failure?

3. Would this depend on the plane or the bullet damage on canvas and wood remains the same?

I keep everything on Normal as it plays well with my MOD. But I've noticed that dispersion to be like this:

Click to reveal..

Less Accurate: about 15 to 20 percent of bullets hit.

Normal: about 20 to 30 percent of bullets hit.

Accurate: about 35 to 45 percent of bullets hit.

I do it the other way round. Forward firing less accurate and the rear gunners accurate.

For some reason it takes me longer to shoot some one down but the AI scouts don't seem to be too handicaped when shooting at me. And as to the 2 seaters I like being afraid to go near them...makes one plan the attack out before it all goes to hell.

I use:

main guns - less accurate
rear guns - less accurate
player guns - normal
ground guns - easy

Two seaters are still way too dangerous but I often can't resist attacking and then pay the price.

When I fly a 2-seater I normally fly from the back seat and have the rear guns set as accurate. Doesn't seem to make much difference as I still get shot down a lot

Well, at least Accuracy at the Front Guns seems to make a Difference. @Normal, I used to "Snipe-down" Bombers with a Fokker E3 from 300+ Meters. @Less Accurate, the Guns are empty, before anything relevant happens...
