Interesting screens here... both from the St. Andrews Old Course 2015... one is EA Sports version the other The Golf Club.

Basically The EA Sports version is a better video game with better graphics, sounds, and presentation... while, IMO, The Golf Club is the better golf simulation... so much so I can get frustrated easy, just like with real golf, lol.

The best bang for buck thou, is the Golf Club... won't be a yearly thing, 1000's of course due to a in game course editor and ability to share.

I have a play them both, love them both for what they are and are not when it comes to video game golf.

Yeah, I just grabbed The Golf Club for the XB1 yesterday, in fact. I'm liking it so far. Mostly got it because of the course creator. I used to really enjoy making courses for the old games like Jack Nicklaus, Links, TW, etc.

Graphically, TGC is pretty good, but they have horribly botched the motion-capture of the golfer models. They have the WORST golf posture I've ever seen. You would never see a good golfer with posture so bad. They're not bent enough at the hips, the bend is taking place in the upper spine, which, really should be very straight. Plus, the weight looks like it's way back on the heels. And when the golfer is on a slope they look like they should be toppling over. Also, when the golfer is in a bunker, their knees are so bent that they look like they're sitting on an invisible chair. I'd really like to see them improve the golfer models, it would go a long way towards helping with immersion.

Those complaints aside, I mostly like this, so far. I would like the option to have some sort of meter for shot strength, especially when putting, because I'm finding it very difficult to judge putting distances. And judging from the vids I'm seeing online, so are a lot of other people. LOL!

But, I do like that it's challenging and fairly realistic. Yesterday morning I played a real round of golf on a local course and shot an 87 (just a stroke above my handicap) and then I played a round of virtual golf with The Golf Club and shot an 86. I suffered many of the same problems as I did with my real game (i.e. putting).

But, I think you're doing a bit of a disservice with your screenshot of the game above, Magnum. The woodlands courses for the game are on a par with the new EA Sports game, IMHO.

Nice.

Hey, Chuck, sorry I didn't get on to play you Saturday or for that matter Sunday. I've ended up working a lot the last two months and am on a streak of 27 of 28 days with the off day being last Friday when we set our "date."

NP airdrop... On a gaming marathon for the next 10 days or so, wife going to Germany tomorrow, so look for me.

Agree Lemz, but doing it a service by sharing this info, I don't real golf but tried and putting is exactly the same, back and forth over the hole. With practice just like in real golf you learn and get better, you learn the distance. More sim, Ea is more "fun". Imo

Yea there's more game in the EA title. TGC is a bit more sim-like and I love the editor.

Question: how do I find user made courses on the XB1?
