I live for the smell of barbecues.

The only thing I hate about smelling my neighbor's barbecues is that it makes me hungry. I wouldn't want that guys job.

Oh you guys haven't even heard the best part, he's not an EPA agent, he has no authority, he has no 'effin business even talking to this guy, he's a douchebag city councilman who lives in the neighborhood, he should have had the Sheriff called on him for coming on this guy's property with his book and his radio to nobody. The law says there has to be at least 3 complaints and I'll guarantee that it doesn't go to his desk, this guys a fraud.

Getting dark, think I need to grill something. Then I always have people coming down

Digging into this, the "commercial smoker" is ye olde 55 gallon drum that's been cut in half.

I thought it might be something over the top and there could be something to it - but not really. Just one pissed off neighbor who is down from the prevailing winds (14 of 15 complaints from the same dude).

Now, then, if someone were really making a crap load of BBQ and the smoke dared enter my property I'd be over there with a list of demands. Mostly ribs and some greens, but probably some chicken as well.

almost everyone on my street cooks out on occasion, with no problem, but someone has complained about wood smoke in the winter, for supplemental or primary heat. My furnace uses wood to heat water for the radiators, and we have backup gas for the same system to serve when we are gone more than 24 hours, or it is too mild to fire up the wood burner. It only smokes briefly in the morning if I load it too heavily before the fire builds up. I find dryer sheets vented into the air I breathe far more objectionable. As more folks live closer and whine about everything life gets less and less fun.

They said on the local news here it's mostly fish that they're cooking. Not ribs, not beef, not chicken...FISH.

Yeah, that's gonna stink.



The Jedi Master

On my parents street people started complaining about those little backyard fire pits. To my surprise, my Mom hated it when the people next door used theirs. I love the smell of a fire pit too.

I need to file a complaint against Ellison Bakery in Fort Wayne. It's a cookie bakery right next to the dang airport where I work, and when the wind comes out of the north west the horror my stomach feels after smelling fresh baked cookies and knowing I don't have any.

I know the feeling well! Way back there used to be a Holsum bread factory right off a highway that I used to drive on and that smell of freshly baked bread made me instantly hungry.
