Congrats to your son TG!

As for Hooters, it's a good thing to have all of that eye candy there to distract you from watching the sad Red Sox play.

Nice. smile

My Mrs. would never qualify for a job at Hooters, but I give her credit that she never minded eating there, we like their sampler platter. It's been a while though, damn the healthy eating lifestyle. frown

I was going to suggest to TG, when he turns 16 take him to Mardi Gras in the 'Quarter (not the 'burbs). We were 16 and still in shock (we've never been back that time of year). Maybe wait until he's 18 (I forget if our drinking age is 18 or 21).

Oh, and also congrats to your son.

Ah yes. One of my first real memory of visiting the USA, barely 20 at the time... and first evening dinner at a Hooters in Florida.

Nooo. Man, get the platter with snow crab legs and shrimp!

I didn't remember oysters, I gotta go back (will take it easy on the butter dipping)!

Must have been Daytona. Wings for sure, beer at 20yo likely not...

Certainly an interesting start into US culture wink

Went down to a convention in florida and a couple of the guys got drunk and one fell over and knocked a crawdad boil over sending thousands of crawdads everywhere and covering him in semi-hot water. A few seconds later he was stripped down to an tangerine speedo and running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Our whole group was thrown out of that hooters.

Ah memories.

The ultimate US cultural experience would have been if you were in Daytona in February so you could have attended the NASCAR Daytona 500 after you ate at Hooters! biggrin

He would never have found a place to stay within 75 miles, and the rates would've shocked him!

One thing I can say about Hooters, at least every time I've eaten there...

Understandably, 90-something percent of the girls cater to 90-something percent of guys who eat there.

But there's always at least that one skinny/petite girl, no more than a pushed-up 32B running about (usually Asian descent or Eastern European?) who catches my attention. So they do cater to all tastes and they're all pretty to look at, it just may not be your favorite girl(s) serving your table. At least this is how it was 10+ years ago.

I also understand the Cheetah in Atlanta (a strip club, not a restaurant) isn't what it was in the '90s (when I went) but I don't plan to find out for myself. I am thinking about returning to Hooters though, looking over the menu today (thanks to this thread) you can eat relatively healthy if you want to.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

my GF is the same way, could never work there but most of the time she's ok going there. This was actually her idea to bring them. We actually make it a ritual after air shows if they have one around. bottles
