Then, I guess you're running into some weird issue with the sim and I'm at a loss to help you. Still, my best bet would be that something went wrong when you installed T4ckl3b3rry patch.
I also remember getting the black screen when I installed SuperPro after the patch, then again I eventually managed to get Superpro running with T4ckl3b3rry patch but it was too unstable. I'm currently testing the patch on top of a basic install (1.02) and I'm not experiencing any issues whatsoever. Maybe, you should try a new install instead of your backup version of Jane's USAF, who knows? doesn't hurt to try.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Fly Safe,
Andro
EDIT: Just a thought : did you check that your game resolution doesn't exceed your desktop's? For instance, 1600x1200 wouldn't be okay with a 1080 monitor. I currently use 1280x720 for my 16/9 1080 monitor. Whenever I want to use a 1600x1200 resolution, I have to down-sample my monitor to 2400x1800 or 3840x2160 in order to display the sim in a window. Works fine for me.

'Au Royaume des aveugles, les borgnes sont mal vus'. Pierre Dac. In the land of the blind, one-eyed men are badly looked upon.
Signs of good things to come for us, old Jane's USAF loving fellows!
A pretty short video featuring the last T4ckl3b3rry patch (including superpro 9.4, enhanced clouds and horizon and some interesting Reshade post-processing effects). After a successful airfield bomb-run, I gloriously end up in flames because I'm hardcore...
Some terrain options in the patch are disabled, so do not mind the blurry aspect of the runway. All in all, lots of fun, flies great, and the superpro 9.4 features add a lot to the game.
Enjoy.
And, unlike me, fly safe !

One of these days, GOG will have these up....I keep hoping.
I feel your pain, man...
The old Jane's sims have never, to my taste, been bettered for functionality, entertainment, replayability, atmosphere and downright fun...
The teams who made them knew that what combat flight sims needed was gameplay, first and foremost.
I take my hat off to DCS for keeping the flame alive, and every so often I take it for a spin, but... every time, it just leaves me cold.
On the bright side, who needs GoG releases when Tackleberry's patches have got both IAF and USAF running on modern systems?
TSH v3.06 (hosted at www.VFA-41.net) keeps Jane's F/A-18 alive, and, my current fave WW2 sim?
Janes WW2 Fighters, runs like a dream on my Win7 rig straight out of the box. I can get lost for hours just browsing the museum and listening to that 40's big band soundtrack.
Of course, I'm lucky enough to have scored the original releases back in the day, so when all else fails I can just re-read those massive spiral bound manuals. Happy times, but hey, they're still here!
Slainthe!

Hi, you can try my latest version of the patch. I also added my utility map viewer. Your resolution and other settings you can set in dgVoodooSetup located in USAF main directory. Instructions for Jane's USAF - Super Pro you can find in folder Docs in USAF main directory.
Hi, I think it could be one from latest of my patch. This patch include two run files. USAF.exe for run in resolution with aspect ratio 4:3 or 5:4 and USAF-wide.exe for run in resolution with aspect ratio 16:9 or 16:10. There was also optimized terrain streaming and compatibility. Install to Jane's USAF or Jane's USAF - Super Pro main folder. Later I will send link to one patch include this patch and one link to Jane's USAF - Super Pro include this patch.
However I have an issue with the latest patch, it always hangs during transition from menu to game. but the previous patch posted on March works with both stock and SP 9.4 although the sim has to be ran windowed.
Also I'm a bit noob at running SP9.4, some planes (so far I observed, MiG-21 and F/A-18C) appears untextured and using certain planes (B-2) in QMB resulting in CTD while loading. Any fix for these? Lastly, are Soviet/Redfor planes not playable in QMB? I've tried putting MiGs (except Fulcrum) and Sukhois in the blue team but I can't fly them.
Anyway, thanks again now that I can finally play my favorite flight sim on Windows 10!

Hi, I play Jane's USAF without big issues with the miraculous Tackleberry's patches that Andromedius has pointed out to me. I'd like to play Super Pro 9.4 but I can't install correctly and the game doesn't run. What is the full procedure? What is the Tackleberry'good patch? Thank you for your answer. Sarginot

Have you tried running the USAF Super Pro Install path FIX in the Utilities folder first? Use it to set Super Pro's installation folder.
update: forget what I said about planes being untextured, it was the ReShade effect made it overly bright. Any solution for this?
@lesarginot Sorry for not being clear enough before, but this is the install path FIX executable I was talking about before
