I have been told that Battlefield 2142 is no longer. All server support, even offline is not available.
Is this correct is? Is no workaround?

Couldn't even tell you the last time I tried to play. Maybe 2007?

I thank you for the confirmation of what ORIGIN tech support was the status of this "old game" I would still like to have my installation investment, in money and hard disk space, receive some compensation by restoring functionality to this program.

ORIGIN tech support said that they knew of no 'work arounds' but agreed that a standalone version, without dependence on an external server for multi-player application was a valid request. He would communicate this request to his supervisor. Roses will not bloom in spring here.

So, I ask if anyone knows of some executable or config.sys modification that would liberate the game from dependence on no-longer functional EA Servers to please let me know so I can return functionality to this discarded member of a series.

I believe when GameSpy went down, that's when this stopped working online...

I've played it a few months ago....can't even remember who/where it was hosted but it was all fine and it was quite busy.

Also, the BF2 (Revive) hosts are still really busy with loads of people playing
