So just ordered my first gaming rig since 2007. Its nothing special but I feel it will at least put me on an equal footing with some of you guys in the graphics department. This is mainly in effort to improve the looks of War Thunder since I am mainly running on the mid-high range and usually at 25-30 fps. Hopefully this'll increase my joy from the game. smile Some details... CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K Quad-Core 3.7GHz (4.0 GHZ Turbo) Socket FM2+ 95W GPU: MSI GeForce GTX N750Ti-2GD5/OC 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express (PCIe) DVI/VGA Video Card MOBO: MSI A78M-E45 AMD A78 Socket FM2+/FM2 mATX Motherboard 8GB DDR3 1600 12800 MHZ Memory 1TB SATA Hard Drive 1 HDMI Port 650W PSU DIYPC Solar-M1-B Black Dual USB 3.0 ATX and Micro-ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case with 2 x 120mm Blue Fans 8 USB Ports DVD RW Drive WIFI Card Got it for $600 which I figured was a fair price. I'm already thinking I will replace the GPU but not sure with what. Thoughts?

For $600 that's a good deal.
I agree on the GPU being the weak link. Since cost is clearly a concern for you I'd say wait for bit and see how the GTX750ti works for you. IMO, if you are running 1920X1080 or 1920x1200 2GB is probably sufficient. My personal suggestion for an upgrade would be to get the GTX970 (there was one for sale here at SimHQ, shipping included to lower 48 for $275- which I thought was a good price but got no takers). Otherwise you might looking at buying a second-hand GTX780 from someone upgrading to the latest and greatest... but first see how you like the GTX750ti- it might suit your needs.
Other than that, I'd be tempted to pick up a 64GB SSD for the OS.

Didn't know that about AMD mobos and NVidia gpus... could be. AMD generally gives better value for money, especially at the high end, but in the mid-range AMD and NVidia have the market segments pretty evenly carved up and the only real savings are either getting a clearance deal or benefitting from the depreciation on a second-hand card. Re-reading my post, I'm not sure how realistic it is for me to suggest a $250-$300 upgrade to Graf when that's 50% of what he spent on the whole rig. Waiting for prices to drop is likely the most realistic option.

I run an FX8350 cpu. I had an AMD 6970 and swapped it for a GTX770 and noticed a huge improvement. No issues mixing here. Doubt I'll ever have another AMD graphics card.

Yeah, all my gaming here is in 1920x1080. Still playing from a 24" Asus monitor from 2010.
I usually wait on the GFX cards and allow prices to drop. Got my Sapphire AMD 7870 2GB DDR5 back in 2012 for less than $200. Was a good bargain back then. Hopefully can find another.
