Well done guys! I doubt the men can equal that achievement. I find the women's game much more watchable, there tends to be none,or very little of the douchebaggery that goes on in the men's game.

there was one Japanese women who tried to act hurt, but got up once she saw she wasn't getting the call.
This is soccer in its entirety in a nutshell to me. People acting like they have injuries to game it (also known as a-holes and cheats) and Spanish speaking broadcasters screaming GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL, especially while playing Splinter Cell.
From the very, very little that I've seen broadcast of rugby it blows soccer out of the water. Quick violent game that gets straight to the point with no fluff. If football/gridiron is an hour of chess with armored men, rugby is 10 minutes of checkers with chainsaw wielding maniacs.

Yeah, that was one of the things that made the tournament so great to watch, the women just played hard without the diving and faking injuries that we see in the men's game.
Another thing I noticed is they also didn't shy away from putting their body on the line just like the men.
Germany's Alexandra Popp got a bleeding head injury going up for a header but came right back in with a bandage and new shirt and played the rest of the game with just as much aggression as before, same with Morgan Brian who she banged heads with, well done to all of them
Here's hoping this great WC increases the popularity and respect for the women's game.
Bleeding head injury.... pffft. Terry Butcher I say.
With the HIV scare at the time you weren't allowed to play like that after this game.

So "diving" is hardly a "soccer"-exclusive phenomenon, which of course should rightly be called Fussball.
Me thinks you really need to leave your America-centric ivory tower for a while, and get to see more of the world, because, strangely, where I live, for some unknown reason, there are almost, but not quite, no Spanish speaking commentators. And no one has ever screamed "goool" over here, either. And that is also true for all of Europe - except Spain. And England, if you ignore the different spelling

I thought England wasn't part of Europe?

Women's soccer has come a long way. Good technique, good positional play, good passing. What's still lacking is the "physical" side; the game is not as dynamic and fast as that of their male counterparts.
Maybe the pitch could be scaled down to compensate for that? Maybe 20% smaller? Also before anyone accsues me of being sexist, let me point out that in almost any other sport, there are different rules and regulations for women (like only two winning sets in tennis, for example).
