BTW there's plenty of variations in there in craft allocation, for example some aces chose to keep the earlier craft as they preferred it, or maybe the new craft had problems so was quickly dumped to the novices.
There are also the odd error in there, kind of happens when you make something this massive.

Yes, I recall reading recently about some ace, Billy Bishop perhaps, that kept his old Nieuport when the rest of the squadron upgraded to a newer, supposedly better, type.

This still hasn't answered my situation. I'm in Lafayette Escadrille, Nov. 18, 1916, as a Lieutenant. The aircraft allotment page says that the first Spad will become available on April 7, 1917 to the highest ranks and in June 3 and 16 for middle and lower ranks. There are twelve pilots on duty, my wingman and I are the only ones in N17's and all others in Spads. I'm getting all the discussions relating to various assignments but if an aircraft isn't available until a certain date why is it assigned at all five months ahead of that date?

Goes without saying WOFF is absolutely fantastic and I am not the pickiest in historical detail, but on this one it would be cool if solution was out there. I was thinking that in OFF I had followed a Laf Esc career all the way to when they dissolved into the USAS and had it work out aircraft assignment-wise but I could be wrong. Anyway I'll be the last one to crab about stuff since the dev's do such a great job, carry on.
